Chit Chat Post : How To Get Some Ideas To Create Makeup Looks :)

Okeh, every once in a while maybe I want to write a post in Bahasa.
So.. for my International readers, feel free to click the Google Translate button above if you curious to know what I'm talking about this time yaa ^^

Hallo semuanyaaa!
Apa kabarnya hari ini?
Moga2 semuanya dalam kondisi cetarrrrr menggelegarrrrr terpampang NYATA ya!
ughlalaa~~ hihi :P

" Bagaimana Mendapatkan Ide-Ide Untuk Membuat Tampilan Berbagai Makeup :) "

Hmm.. Rajin bgt kan ngupdate postnya? moga2 ga mual kebanyakan liat muka aku yak! haha.. Emang belakangan aku lagi sukaaa bgt create makeup looks buat sekedar iseng2. Malahan sekarang jadi berasa kaya nagih ngelakuinnya. And finally.. I realized & even dare to say that : Makeup ARTistry is what I love doing now! :D

Haha..

Kalo aku, banyak bgt idolanya.. Mulai dari Rihanna, Marilyn Monroe, sampe Barrack Obama. #nahloo haha.. Tapi sayang Obama kaga pake makeup. Jadi kita ngomongin yg seputaran beauty aja kali yaa. haha.. Iya, banyak2 channel inspirasi ga salah kok. Bagus banget malah. Aku kagum sama wanita yg edgy, inspiring, berani tampil beda, dan fearless! Ambil satu deh yg sekarang jadi trendsetter fashion & beauty icon di bidang musik, yaitu Mba Riri alias Rihanna.

Mba Riri ini #halah boleh dibilang selalu tampil beda, makanya sekarang dia jadi panutan tampilan sii kalo aku bilang. Keren2 juga apapun yg nemplok sama dia! *speechless*

2. That Little Things

Kaya gini nih, terakhir aku ngeliat si papih ampir mau buang T-shirt lamanya dia. Katanya udah tipis dan jarang dipake. Nah loo, pas aku liat kok malah sayang yak buat dibuang. Baju tipis singlet gitu sii.

3. Have The Wildest Fantasy!
#YAAHGAMIKIRJOROKJUGASIIIH,FELLL :P

hihi.. :P Maksud aku, jangan takut buat mimpi ketinggian ataupun tergila sekalipun.

***

Ya udah, kayanya segini dulu aja kali ya chit chat postnya :)

Apa mau sambung lagi kapan2?

Just let me know then.. ^^

"Live with passion, you'll gonna enjoy yourself & everything in the process of life!"

Review Local Brand : Bless Acne Series

Hi bubblies!
How's your day?
Aah.. Am I asking too much? LOL.
But I hope you're doing great! :)

So, this is my review about one of our local brand.
( I have one of their full skincare regiment line, which is Bless Acne Series, because this is what I use religiously back then. ) >> Yea, back at the time, when I'm still full with fluctuation of teenage hormonal issue.  ( read: acne problem! )
lol. bahasanya terlalu berat >,<"

Well, if you :
  • Happen to live in Indonesia ( humid climate and tropical, almost pollute weather )
  • Have a super oily skin, but ( Thank God! ) not sensitive type of skin
  • Begin to have loads of pimples in your teenage golden year :P
  • New to skincare and need the alternative solution of an affordable-drugstore-local item
Yup, maybe you can relate to me back then! :D and would find this post helpful! As I tried quite much of products until now and I find this skincare line is as one of my good experience so far :)

In any skincare essential, a good step would be :
Cleanse + Tones >> Should be a daily routine ( day and night application )
Moisture >> Daily routine -I prefer application at night alone-
Exfoliate >> Weekly routine -Or you can do twice a week-

As for the sake of this post, I'm gonna touch the Purple Box, which is Cleanser + Toner + other essential basic makeup from Bless Cosmetics.

For Pink Box ( Cheap Alternate Drugstore Moisturizer ) I recommend :
For Green Box ( Affordable Alternate Exfoliator ) I recommend:

********************************************************************
Acne Cleansing Foam
********************************************************************
link to the product --> click here!

Ingredients : Triclosan 0,2%, Vitamin E 2%, Sodium cocoylisethionate, Sodium lauryl ether sulphate, Glycerin, Cocoamidopropyl betaine, Propylene glycol, Sodium chloride, Methyparaben, Propyl paraben, Diazolidinyl urea, Parfum, Aquadest.

It has a dispense like so :

This is a gentle cleansing facial wash. Gel type texture, and it won't lather like a typical soap. Just a mild foam, creamy and it's not harsh on your skin. I think it would good on any type of skin, whether you're sensitive or not. It cleans well and could refresh your face as well.

It has a slightly soft soapy scent. Honestly, not my favorite scent. But I'll get over it, rather than it has a cheap strong perfume smell which can cause me headache. Thank God! >,<"

I think it's a good starting facial wash because it infused with good ingredients to prevent acne. There is also vitamin E to cleans and moisturize skin and pH balance to maintaining the stability of the natural protective layer of skin without causing irritation.

********************************************************************
Acne Cleansing Tonic
********************************************************************

link to the product --> click here!

Ingredients : Water, Ethanol, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Cl 16035, Parfum.

It has a dispense like so :

This is a quite strong alcohol type of toner. That's why in a way I won't recommend for a sensitive type of skin, which is pretty harsh on your delicate skin.
Had a hit of pink color, but it completely translucent on the skin.

And I do understand why they made it that way ( >> strong alcohol infused ), I think it would compliment the gentle cleanser that we use before. It really does clear out my skin and kill the bacteria in it. Also infused with Salicylic Acid which is strongly believe to rejuvinating layer of skin and prevent acne at the same time >> as a mild exfoliator.

********************************************************************
Acne Liquid Foundation
********************************************************************

link to the product --> click here!

Ingredients : Boric Acid, Zinc oxide, Talcum, Glycerin, Methyl paraben, Pewarna Cl 75125, Parfum, Aquadest.

It has a dispense like so :

It said would be a "liquid" foundation, but it kinda shocking because it form of almost like "water" foundation to me.

ZERO coverage, btw. So VERY liquidy like hell. Sometimes, I wonder how to pour them without it spilled out everywhere -_-"

And I would find the color ( pigment / dye ) even separate with the liquid itself >> even though I already shake them before pour them on the back of my hand.

What it said is almost like a heaven to me, could shrink pores, also prevent and dried out any pimples and also it's form of what-i-think-it-would-be a foundation. But, yeah.. -_-

I think this product is useless, if you think it would be like the typical foundation you used to know. But, I'd imagine this as the base for the next loose or pressed powder which is also on the set. This thing will make them stick better on the skin. Also, let's hope for the good promised it was said! 0.0v

********************************************************************
Acne Face Powder Natural
*******************************************************************
link to the product --> click here!

I already change the original puff with a sponge, to give more coverage to my face.

Finally, I guess this is one from a bunch local brand out there that give a good color payoff to skin, not too brown or yellow or pink like other correcting complexion here in Indonesia. A natural beige color and fit perfect to my skin.

Also, this thing is loooooong lasting. I think in any loose powder history, you can splurge a bit because it could last looooooong than what you can realize.

So, have you tried this brand?
Let me know what you think!
Good day all!

Quick Tip & Tricks : For Your Nail!

Hi lovelies!
How's everything going?
Hope you're doing well! :)
❤(◕‿◕)❤

So, this maybe a quick little trick that I learn by trial and error when I'm doing my nail. I didn't come up with all of this tricks at first, it's by listening or observing here and there from long time ago by some other people.
I'm totally not an expert in nail section, but I do love painting my nails with colors!

I just hope this information could be useful for some of you who discover this tricks by this post. And if you know some other tricks that could be useful, please share! and I'd love to hear from you :D

Let's start!

 ***

Preparation
Rubbing Alcohol.
So, if you start doing your nail with a clean, nail-polish-free finger, it's better to swipe your nail with some rubbing alcohol first. Not just it will kill the unseen bacteria in your hands but with a swipe of rubbing alcohol make your next nail polish dry faster.

I'm just using Alcohol 70% IKA

Base Coat.
Base coat is like putting a safety or barrier to your nails from nail polish ( like a primer or moisturizer before foundation ). Not only it preventing your nails into staining from nail polish, but it will also make your nail polish glides smoothly and evenly. I think base coat is important :)

I'm just using a Nail Strengthener as my base coat from The Face Shop
I've gone all of 2 bottles of that and need getting a new one >,<"

How to remove nail polish without nail polish remover
The answer is : by other nail polish. You know, in every nail polish is containing ethyl acetate or some other alcohol which is also an ingredients in every -acetone free- nail polish remover << well, please correct me if I'm wrong :)
But this method is something that I do only at emergency time, In case I forgot to bring or ran out of a nail polish remover that day.

How it works is simple :
  1. There I made a stain of nail polish that ready to be removed.
  2. Just use any kind of nail polish ( better the one that you barely use ), then put it generously on top of the nail polish stain.
  3. Wait a few second so it dissolve into the nail polish stain.
  4. You can use tissue paper or cotton pads to wipe it off.
  5. Little "wiggle" would help :P
  6. There you go! *clink*
NOTE : you may repeat the step several times, it depends on the thickness of the nail polish layer.

How to make your nail polish dry faster
For this, I can tell you with several tricks.
  • The easiest way is a salon trick, which they usually use a blow dry on a cool air in each between coats. If you use hot air, it will turn the other way, as it would melt the liquidy consistency of nail polish. Also, hot air will make it bubble up and chip off easier.
 courtesy by google
  • Other method is by dipping your nails in a bowl of a cold water. The cold water freeze-dries polish, sealing and hardening it quickly. After you apply the nail polish, wait or let it air dry for around 2 minutes, then submerge in ice-cold water for three minutes, which is enough time for the polish to harden completely.
picture taken --> here!
  • You can use a speed dry top coat nail polish.
I'm just using Revlon Super Top Speed.
  • Or you can spray them. Lately, some geniuses invented a spray that will immediately make your nail polish dry. ( And I believe it's a WOMAN! lol )
Recommended items --> Avon Nail Experts Liquid Freeze Quick Dry Spray

Baby Oil Trick
This trick I remember clearly when I'm doing manicure and pedicure at the salon. The girl who's doing my nail kind enough to told me this trick. While I'm waiting my nail to dry, she put baby oil to my nails. I was asking her why, she said that it would prevent the "almost drying nail" from tracing by other objects. As if your nail accidentally touch a sharp edges, it will slide on immediately and not be traced unto the nail. Cool trick, huh? :P

I'm just using Cussons Baby Oil ^.^

Chip-Free Nail
The reason why nail polish could be chip easily is because the quality of the nail polish or simply, in how you "seal" them with top coat. Usually, people will only layer it on top of nail polish ( obviously, it should be that way! *duh. ) But, it will be more effective if the top coat also seal the outside edges of your nails. With this trick, you would find the nail polish is more secure of getting chip :)

layer your top coat as usual, then continue to seal the edges before it dry.
It will close out the edges that tend to get chip easily.

PS: that's my dad's thigh! LOLOL.

Other Tips For Your Nail Polish
  • You know where the best place to store your nail polishes? In refrigerator :D or at least in a cool place :P
  • Old nail polish is become gooey and thick? Never use a makeup remover to dissolving it. Use a nail polish thinner!
  • Never use your top coat as your base coat. Better not using a base & top coat ( 2in1 product ) as it should works differently.
  • Toss bottles when the polish begins to change color or separate. At that point, the lacquer has probably thickened and become unusable.
  • Protecting your nails from sun radiance is also needed. You know, like protecting your other body parts! :D
I'm just using UV Top Coat that I bought at free market in Singapore.
Ingredients : Buty Acetate, Ethyl Acelate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Tocopheryl Acelate, Collodion, Mica, Resin, Cl15850, Cl15880:1, Cl77499, Cl77510, Cl77891.

But I believe top coat is also works well in protecting your nails!

Tips : Makeup for Oily Skin

Maybe some of you have an oily face? I mean.. suuuper duuuper oily and shiny during the day?? C'mon, raise your hands in the aiirr!
*Me* aaaaah.

Giiiirl, i could ice skate in your face! -___-"

Well, sometimes it can be frustrating, right?
Worst thing, if you wear makeup it can caused breakout >.<!

Here, I wanna share some of my favourite products in order to reduce the appearance of my excessive oil in case I wanna wear makeup that day. :D
Keep in mind, these products is what I use and work well on me and it might cause different on you. :)

 1. Never skip primer!
What is foundation primer?
Primers work much like a moisturizer under your foundation. They ease the application of foundation and are meant to create a barrier between the foundation and skin.

Do I need it?
Yes. In fact, primers nowadays already go one step further than moisturizer. They'll even out skin tone, help your make up stay on longer and absorb oil with salicylic acid. Also, for specific primers it could smooths out fine lines and wrinkles by lightly filling them in and creating a flat, even canvas. It also diminishes the appearance of larger pores by coating them and filling in the uneven skin.
For oily skin, foundation primer aids in absorbing the excess oils that our skin produces, which reduces the shine that occurs in oily skin.

Recommend product :
L'oreal Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer

I got this for IDR.149000rupiahs ( around $14.90 US Dollar ) at Watsons Mal Kelapa Gading.

Here is what it says at the back of the package :
Transform your bare skin texture : The 1st smoothing primer that makes your lines and pores invisible for a visible and touchable smoothness.
Sensational Velvet Texture
A unique blend of silicon oils and soft light powders create a sensational smoothing velvet formula to refine the skin.
- Smooth wrinkles and fine lines
- Perfectly hides pores
- Skin imperfections are corrected
The rosy shade brings out the translucency on the bare skin tone.

My thoughts :
What I like about this primer is giving the velvety texture into skin, also making it smooth and apply foundation or BB cream evenly. It really does hide my pores. Doesn't have strong smell, and just needed a small amount of product to cover ( mostly center area ) of my face.
What I don't like is the the packaging. It came with a jar, that makes it unhygienic. And it contain silicon. For some of you who had a sensitive skin to silicon, this might not good for you.
Overall, with a 15ml of product that you get.. it worth every penny! Definitely i would recommend this for you! :D

Addition :
For those of you who have an oily eyelid. You might need eyeshadow primer as well. The function is pretty much the same as foundation primer, only it goes on into your eyelid. prevent your eyeshadow into creasing.
This is product like Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance is famous for. But as good as the quality, the higher the price it might be.
Recommend product :
NYX HD Eyeshadow Base
Other optional : Etude Eyeshadow Primer, Elf Eyeshadow Primer

I got this for IDR. 75000 rupiahs ( around $7.50 US Dollar ) at Indonesian multiply market .

My thoughts :
What I like about this eyeshadow primer is it make the color of eyeshadow that I'm using more vibrant, just need a swipe of eyeshadow to make the color really really pop out. I remembered.. One day, when I still got my eye makeup ( too lazy to remove it :P ) I went to the gym, getting really really sweat, took a shower.. and when I see myself in the mirror, I was kinda shock! my eyeshadow is still looking good. And that's how great I describe this thing is.

Here, you can see from the picture that first row of eyeshadow without using an eyeshadow base. and the second row ( bottom row ) is using NYX HD Eyeshadow Base. It really stick the colour pigmentation into skin.
Eyeshadow from NYX 10 Colour Eyeshadow Palette The Runway Collection ESP10C 05 Super Model --> Review & Swatches!

 2. Apply a right makeup
As well as choosing a primary base, choose oil-free formula that anti-dry also the key when choosing a good foundation. For those of you who have oily skin can choose products that contain oil absorbent materials and conditioning. Owner of the combination and sensitive skin types, can use oil-free products that contain SPF 20.

Recommend product :
Revlon Colorstay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination or Oily Skin
I'm in shade 200 Natural Beige as preference

I got this for IDR. 110000rupiahs ( around $11.00 US Dollar ) at STAR Department Store MKG ( Mal Kelapa Gading ).  1 Fl Oz / 30 ml of product.

My thoughts :
What I love about this foundation that it giving a nice coverage ( medium to heavy coverage ) and MATTE finish into skin, which helps to keep the shine (from my oily T-zone) at bay for a lot longer. Affordable price and easily reach at any drugstore or department store. Nice range of shades ( 20 shades I believe, from 'ivory' to 'mocha' ). Unfortunately, the color selection here in Indonesia is very limited ( only four or five shades available ). Another downside of this product is the packaging. It came with a bottle, that can be unhygienic and very messy if you're not careful pouring the liquid product to the amount size that you want.

Colour Chart Guidance for Revlon Colorstay vs MAC Studio Fix Fluid :
The shades from the lightest until the darkest :
Ivory >> NW15/ NC15 lightest of the bunch
Buff >> NC20 best match for fair NCs
Sand Beige >> NC20-25 with somewhat neutral undertones
Nude >> NC25 with peachy undertones, definitely not for pinks or true golden
Natural Beige >> NW20 tends to run pink
Medium Beige >> NC27 between Sand Beige and Golden Beige
Fresh Beige >> NW25 with pinky undertones
Golden Beige >> NC30 with truest yellow/olive undertones
Warm Golden >> NW30/NC30 with somewhat neutral undertones
True Beige >> NW30 with pinky undertones (for Fresh Beige in summer)
Natural Tan >> NC40/NC42 more neutral than golden caramel
Early Tan >> NW35 with somewhat peach undertones
Rich Tan >> NW35 with pinkish undertones
Golden Caramel >> NC40/NC42 more golden than natural tan
Toast >> NW43/NC45 with neutral undertones
Rich Ginger >> NW45 very peachy-pink
Caramel >> NC45 seems to run true to color
Cappuccino >> NC50 slightly more peach than Caramel
Mahogany >> NW50/NC55 the darkest of NWs but not extremely peachy
Mocha >> NW55 seems to be very cool toned, almost grey undertone

source from --> here!
NOTE : The available shades in Indonesia only the first five shades ( five lightest shades from the range ).

3. Finish with a setting spray
This kind of spray give a touching finish which is supposed to absorb excess sebum and control surface shine, leaving your makeup looking matte all day. It should have a patent-pending "Temperature Control Technology," which lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold it in place, so you're makeup won't melt down because of the excessive oil in your face. Good example of this kind of product is De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay, which is way too expensive for me.

Recommend product :
Dr. Oil Solution Anti-Shine Mist by Etude

I got this for IDR. 72000rupiahs ( around $7.20 US Dollar ) at Indonesian Multiply market.

Here is what it says at the back of the package :
Etude House Dr. Oil Solution Shine Free Mist moistens your complexion and subdues oily shines even better than oil blotting paper. Enriched with anti-shine ingredient, it removes excessive SEBUM while retaining moisture within your skin, giving you an improved foundation coverage and longevity.

Shake Well before use.
Spray directly onto face with eyes closed at a distance of 20-30 cm. Gently tap your face with your fingertip to enhance absorption.

My thoughts :
Well, I think I like this product. It's not giving a dramatic changes, but it does reduces a little bit of shine and give a fresh effect after I spray it on my face. Besides, it's really inexpensive.
For price comparison :
De Sclick Urban Decay Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray 118ml - $29
Etude House Dr. Oil Solution Anti-Shine Mist 60ml - $7.20
I mean.. you can do the calculating, right? :P
