✧Review : The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash in Mini Size ✧

Hi bubblies!
How's everything going?
Hope all is well ya! :P

So, I was going to the Body Shop counter the other day because I was planning to buy their body mist. Instead of doing that, because they run out of my favorite scent, I bought this facial wash. :>

Well, I don't know much about Body Shop making a small size and separate purchases of skincare product now. Ahh call me lame -_-" As far as I know, if we intend to buy the small size, it's a packed of the whole line, which I don't need that much to change my whole skincare routine.

BUT now, as they provide us the mini sizes and separate purchases, I think it's a great chance for us, as a buyer, to try out first and considering ourself to buy the full size one, or even the whole line if you like it.

( sorry for the dirty object in the picture above :P )
 For 60ml ( 2.0 US FL OZ ) it's only IDR. 29000 rupiahs ( around $ 2.90 Us Dollars )

It's relatively affordable as one purchases.  Of course if you buy in full size it cost more cheaper than that. But it's a good size to try for a MONTH of using! ( twice application each day ). In fact, I already use this religiously for a month and almost gone through the bottle. >> And that's why, it deserves my reviewed post :P

********************************************************************
I ♥ Tea Tree
********************************************************************

Ingredients : Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Polysorbate 20, Alcohol Denat, Panthenol, Melaleuca Altemifolia Leaf Oil, Calophyllum inophyllum Seed Oil, Allantoin, Citric Acid, p-Anisic Acid, Benzophenone-4, Menthol, Sodium Hydroxide, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Limonene, Leptospermum Petersonii Oil, t-Butyl Alcohol, Denatonium, Benzoate, Tocopherol, Caramel, Cl 19140, Cl 42090

Tea tree itself is already famous as ingredients to combat acne for skin. I usually use tea tree as my acne spot treatments aside from my skincare routine. And this Body Shop series also said specifically that it's aimed for oily skin as well for acne prone skin.

Without further a due, here's my review..
It's a mild cleanser and doesn't feel harsh on my skin, I'd say it still suitable for a sensitive skin. *IMHO. But yes, it has a minty sensation afterwards. You'll feel fresh and awake after washing you're face with this.
It also said, it won't dried out your skin and it control excess oil on your face. Hmm.. yeah, about that.. For me personally, I'd say there's a downfall also while using this product. I'd say it doesn't do much for oil control in my face throughout the day, but it does pretty good for drying out my "active" acne, without stripping down the natural oil in my face. As a cleanser, I also find it doesn't cleanse my face well. I'd still find leftover dirt while using toner on my cotton pads. :/

Last word, I'd say this would be a good cleanser if you have active blemishes on top of your oily skin. Again, for cleaner face.. do not forget to use toner like what I've said earlier.

Would I find this as a good facial wash? YES, definitely. I love this, considering I'm breaking out pretty bad lately and there are "active" acne all over my face. It does help to dried out the acne.

But when I have a clearer skin from acne, I intend to switch to another product from The Body Shop also which is the "Seaweed" facial wash that said would most suitable as for the oil control. ( fyi: oil control will most likely to prevent acne, while tea tree is to cure acne )

Review : Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

Hi bubblies!
How's your day?
Just SMILE and make everything better, shall we :)

I think in my previous post lately I've been reviewing more of face product especially skin corrector, foundation, or concealer. right?
And if you been keeping up with my blog.. yes, I had a major breakout which you can see why on my previous post --> Review : Hada Labo Indonesia  Yep. maybe that's why :D

As I still think positive about what's been happening, let just say it's about my time to give you a good post ( as well as proven pictures ) to test out some of good face products to cover blemishes or skincare items to heal those *ehem* bad ass!! >.<"

This is my review for Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream.
I believe it's a Korean product that has been famous for the origin place of.. BB Cream! Basically, BB stands for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm because it's one step advantage as a cosmetic as well as skincare in one. It infused with other beneficial ingredients to a good skin. such as : sunscreen, anti aging, healing properties, etc.

And for this particular product from Missha, it offers :
  • lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability
  • prevent skin aging through effective whitening
  • and anti-wrinkle properties
Well, good concept! As we all need to prevent rather than to cure.. ( if you haven't got all those skin problems.. yet. )

I got mine in the shade No. 21 Light Beight
With SPF42 PA +++

Mine happen with a smaller tube size ( 20ml of product ) which has a dispense like so :

I believe they had a bigger tube size which comes with a pump! How exciting.

For this shade, it has a fresh light beige color with a hint of pink and greyish undertone.

It's pretty thick consistency and little goes a looong way.

It has a satin finish almost matte overall on the skin and good staying power as well! Well.. for oily skin I'll always suggest to put powder on top to set it as well make it last longer! It last good on me for about 3-5 hours before my oil is seeping through on my T-zone area.

None other like Revlon Colorstay Foundation, it didn't oxidize on me! YEY.  But it does leave more hint of pink on the skin, which I believe as their promise to enlightening or fresh effect on the face.

Let's see the coverage performance on my blemishes :

 As you can see :
  •  1 layer is enough to cover the blemishes, while 2 layer could make it more heavier BUT tend to cake you up >> As it lighten your skin, also noticing you wear a makeup on your face or looking ashy. I guess 1 layer is enough! The rest could've been conceal with the help of concealer and powder on top!
  • And it does lightens my skin tone. You can see the different when I put the product near my jaw line and no product on my cheek bone area.

It also really does almost conceal all of my blemishes!
Again. That's zooming in straight to my "disgrace" :P
. no primer. second layer application. dabbing in with just a finger .
. no powder on top .

Overall..
Do I think this BB Cream is good? YES. Definitely. But maybe the downfall is this shade on me. It almost looking ashy and being too white on me, that's why I always mix with other foundation or BB Cream.
By the performance as the cosmetic itself is already have my applause for sure, let's just hope all the skincare beneficial is work wonders as well.

I bought mine for about 6 or 7 months ago at their original counter, and forget the exact price. >,<"
But you can find Missha through their site www.missha.net or your local online makeup shop, or e-bay.

Review : Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation For Oily/Combination Skin

Hi bubblies!
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, INDONESIA!!
:D

So, maybe I'm the latest among every beauty blogger out there who already reviewed this foundation from loooong time ago. It's just, my makeup excitement is started almost as the same time as the booming of the magnificent >> BB CREAM. That's why I got carried away by it more than an "original foundation".

Actually, I got my hands on this foundation quite a long while ago as well. But I kinda forgot about it after that because I've been reaching my BB cream more.
And as you guys know, my skin is not in a good situation nowadays >> to see why, click my previous review --> Hada Labo Indonesia :( I somehow got my eyes in every full coverage foundation or concealing makeup. And remembering I still have the infamous Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation in my stash, that's why I'm using it again and manage to write my proper review about it :)

*My previous blog post related to this product --> Tips : Makeup for Oily Skin
also there's Color Chart Guidance if you want to compare your shade with MAC Foundation.

I got my shade in 200 Natural Beige.

Although I got my shade in Natural Beige as what it said, I still feel it has more like a pinky undertone more than what I expected. And I wouldn't say it match my skin tone color perfectly. >,<"

Swatches :
NOTE : Do remind my face is a bit darker than my hands.

Ok, break down into points on the good and bad things
( in my opinion ) about this foundation :

********************************************************************

♥ The Good

********************************************************************

♥ Good oil control to my T-zone most oily area at my face. I didn't blot or touch up in 3hrs ( without primer ) or 5-6hrs ( with primer ) until the oil is seeping through. And I do have a major oily skin issues and live in a humid tropical weather, I guess that's a good thing!

♥ Matte finish.

♥ Lightweight feels.

♥ It claims to be long wearing makeup ( up to 16 hours ) >> I don't know about 16 hrs, but it last good until I finally remove it in the end of the day.

♥ Affordable price and easily reached at any drugstore here in Indonesia.

♥ It gives a medium to heavy coverage to my blemishes acne spots.

See pictures below :

. without primer or base . indoor artificial lighting . hand -dabbing motion- application .

NOTE : Yes.. My skin is looking at it's worst now, but I think it's in "purging" moment, when the pimples are all showing off, but it will dried out eventually and starting to clear again. Jesus, I hope so! wish me luck, girlss :)) I'm working on it! :')

********************************************************************
The Bad
********************************************************************

Nice range of shades ( up to 20 colors! ) but unfortunately, the color selection here in Indonesia is only 4-5 shades from the lightest.

Have a strong unpleasant smell.

I feel like this foundation tend to cake you up ( it's pretty thick consistency ) so, I just put the second layer to any of my problem area and better avoid my lines area because it could gives a crack look.

Glass bottle packaging, not pump type of dispenser, could get unhygienic and tend to be very messy.

◕ Oxidize pretty bad! >,<" Yep, although at first application it does look match on my skin, but in the end of the day my face is looking darker than my neck area.

So, I guess I could warn you to choose one shade lighter than you normally do :)

( see the link I've given in the top post

For me, for this particular foundation, I find best applied with damped Beauty Sponge or Beauty Blender ( see my comparison for both sponges --> click here! ) as it tends to dry pretty fast. Damped sponges will make it blend and spread nicer, and won't leave you with some patches in your face.

Review : Hada Labo Indonesia

Hi girls!
How's your day?
Hope it's fantastic! :D

Do you know the famous skin care product from Japan called Hada Labo?
I bet it's quite familiar for some of you, since it claim to be the best selling skincare products from Japan. ( sold 1 every 2 seconds in Japan! woot woot! )

Even though I heard so many good reviews about the products, i never eager to buy them. Simply it because I need to pre-order them from an online shop because it's not available in my country, and the price is become quite high include the shipping fee. :/

And I'm quite shock the other day when I saw them in my local Watsons! Woah! When I asked the clerk about it, she said that this is the original Hada Labo that already been produced locally. The price is also inexpensive too! yeyy! :D

Without thinking much, I grab 3 products that I'm willing to try. ( I believe there's 6 different products total that displayed in Watsons Mal Kelapa Gading >> 2 types of cleanser --> both in 50gr and 100gr of packages, 3 types of toner or moisturizing lotion and a cream moisturizer ).

And here's what I've got :
Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Moisturizing (cleanser type) >> 50 gr.
IDR. 14900 rupiahs >> around $ 1.49 US Dollar
Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Whitening (cleanser type) >> 50 gr.
IDR. 14900 rupiahs >> around $ 1.49 US Dollar
Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Moisturizing Light Lotion (toner type) >> 100 ml.
IDR. 31900 rupiahs >> around $ 3.19 US Dollar

Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Moisturizing >> cleanser type

What it claim for the skin >> High Moisturizing Face Wash. Clean & Keep Skin Hydrated. Maintain Elasticity and Smooth-Healthy Skin.
Specification >> With 2 types of Hyaluronic Acid (AcHA). Removes Dirt and Provides High Hydration for Supple & Soft Skin.
Fragrance Free. Colorant Free.

For the package, it come from a squeezy tube top with a dispense like so :

The product is gel texture, milky color and turn into foam when you rub.
It said fragrance free, that's why I still can smell true chemical compound in the product >.<"

Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Whitening >> cleanser type

What it claim for the skin >> Clean & Moisturize. Pure Whitening to Maintain Elastic Bright Skin.
Specification >> With High Purity Arbutin + Whitening Extract + Hyaluronic Acid*. Removes Dirt, Provides Moisturizes & Brightens Skin for Bright Clear & Supple Skin.
Fragrance Free. Colorant Free.
The reason why I'm picking this one too because it claim to brightens skin. Since I know I don't need to be more white, I thought I need this to brightens my dark spots because of acne scaring.

(Explanation of package and texture wise is same like previous product)

Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Moisturizing Light Lotion >> toner type
What it claim for the skin >> Maintain Elasticity and Smooth-Healthy Skin.
Specification >> With 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid. With Nano-Sized Hyaluronic Acid. For Supple & Soft Skin.
 Fragrance Free. Colorant Free.
The reason why I'm picking this is it's said spesifically For Oily Skin. While I'm not sure with the other two types of moisturizing lotion, i just go with this one to see how it works on my skin.

FYI : To be honest, I didn't know what to categorize this skincare at first. But the clerk explain to me that this is a type of toner that you use after the facial wash :O

For the package, it come from a handy plaxtic bottle with a dispense like so :

The product is said to be "lotion", that's why in my mind it would be like some kind of body lotion. teehee! It's completely different! it's a translucent liquid, quite runny & watery also takes time to absorb to the skin. But, it felt no sticky at all afterwards. Just like water, it'd absorb and feel no sensation left on the skin.
It said fragrance free, that's why I still can smell true chemical compound in the product >.<"

This is my review for 3 weeks of using.
While I'm still keeping my regular skincare routine that I trust it works for me, I switch my cleanser and toner with these products. Keeping alternately the cleanser ( switching back and forth for the Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Moisturizing & Ultimate Whitening ) for religiously 2 times a day. And changing my regular toner with Hada Labo Perfect X Simple Ultimate Moisturizing Light Lotion for also religiously after i cleanse with the facial wash.

Huff. I'm sorry I'm not gonna make a good review about these products.
Yep. It broke me out :'(

>> ermm.. I don't know if there's any factor related. Like, hormonal issue >> usually when i'm having period, one or two pimples will come out... Or, stress issue >> lately I got some freelancing job to do... Or, heartbroken issue >> haha. off the record, i just got a bad break up! :')

But, to conclude that it wasn't works on me and I had to stop using after 3 weeks of testing it out ( see pictures below ) :

My face condition Before using :

My skin type is oily in whole face, that's why it shine everywhere! >,<"
Acne scaring around my chin and forehead.
But pretty clear around my cheeks.

My face condition after 3 weeks :

>> WARNING! SOME HORROR PICTURES BELOW! <<

Seeing these pictures even make my heart sink :'(
As you can see, my skin reacted pretty bad :"(
Red pimples and even loads of mild pimples on my cheeks, chin and forehead.

For everyday, I never wore foundation or BB cream, only some concealer on my acne scaring and compact powder or blotting paper to kill the shine. With this condition, even to cover them, I had to use 2 coats of BB cream or heavier foundation + concealer.

Having this condition, still I need to test out even further.
If I go back to my regular skincare regimen and still find this condition (for a period of time off course), I would know it's not entirely because of these products >> like I said before, so many factors related :)

But if other way, I would claim that Hada Labo just not suit me.
And it maybe different in every skin and person :)

Review : Etude House Skin [mal:gem] in Fresh

Hi girls!
How's your day?
Hope it's mesmerizing! :D

Today I'll be reviewing Etude House newest skincare product which is
Etude House Skin [mal:gem] in Fresh
Talk about Skin [mal:gem] line, [mal:gem] is a Korean word for cleanness, clarity and pureness. Skin Malgeum hypoallergenic toners promote clean, clear and pore complexion with moisturizing and pore cleansing formulas.

They have 6 products in this line :

While i was looking for a good toner the other day, I was so captivated by the display of this line in the Etude House's counter. Not like any other Etude House's product, the display of this line is so elegant and expensive looking (while others were cute looking! :P). Well yes, this line have a slight higher price range than the others. While I was reading and observe the products, my heart just fell in love with the Skin [mal:gem] Fresh, because of the description. It's exactly what I'm looking for! :D

I bought it for IDR. 288000rupiahs ( around $ 28.80 US Dollar ) at Etude House counter, Mal Kelapa gading.
Some of the ingredients in the Fresh toner are Water, Alcohol, Bamboo Juice, Lemon Fruit Extract, Orange Fruit Extract, Bilberry Fruit/ Leaf Extract, Sugar Maple Extract, Sugar Cane Extract, Orchid Extract, Panthenol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Citrus Unshiu (Satsuma Mandarin) Peel Extract and Fragrance.

It also said at the package in how you can applying it :
Since I have no clue what it was said (because the description is all written in Korean), so I'm assuming it from the pictures that it could be use as a toner, or soak it with cotton pads and place it under eye area, or dip in the sheet mask for the entire face, or simply just spray it to the face.

To me personally.. since I got this around 2 months ago, twice a day application, after I washed my face.. I only use it as a toner. By the help of cotton pad, I pour a little product and pat it to my face.

For the packaging, the toner itself comes inside a milky, translucent plastic bottle with a white twist-off lid and contains 250ml.

It has a dispense like so :

The liquid consistency is like a gentle alcohol to me, not overpowering "alcohol type" but it quickly absorb to the skin and could evaporate as well. It's colorless and has a very fresh & fruity scent but it's not too sweet or citrus-like.

As for my REVIEW after using it about 2 months
In each after I use it, It feels immediately freshen my face, make it seems cleaner (it does pick up a leftover dirt that I hardly see even after I washed my face), doesn't dry out my skin, my skin also feel supple and relaxing because of the nice smell in it.

For a longer terms, my skin looks much cleaner and my blackheads seem to disappear (especially the ones on the nose). For me it's a very nice toner and I hope that the oil control will work good as well!
