Review + Swatches : Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks

So, for something new in our local Maybelline counter, ladiess ^^ which is :

"Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick"

I got mine in the shade :

 135 Make Me Pink & 515 Coral Crush

 The packaging is a regular twist up tube lipstick supposed to be, but the design making it look more expensive and luxurious in my opinion.

The material is so sturdy and polished. Surprisingly.. although it may look similar, the semi-transparant cap is actually a color coordinator. "Make Me Pink" is more on the purple-y side, and "Coral Crush" is more on the red side.

 As you can see, the color coordinator from the tube is really says it all. "Make Me Pink" shade is more on the purlpe-y pink, while "Coral Crush" is a coral-y undertone red shade.

To me, the texture of this lipstick is quite patchy. I'm experiencing un-even color pay off every time I swatch "Coral Crush" for sure, although they glides on smoothly and has a good color pay off. ( all of the swatches above I need 2-3 swipes )

And they have sort of a "sand" or "granule" texture for these lippies formula >,<"

 The finishes is a beautiful semi matte or satin, as far as I can see. 

They are also a buildable color.

They have slightly a vanilla or coconut scents to my nose. I'm not a big fan of those scents, but I guess I can bare it off.

For the lasting power, well.. I've been amazed for how good they are standing on my lips. Even after I had a meal or a drink, it is still looking good but maybe fade a bit ( off course! it's a lipstick, not a lipstain ^^ ). It also has a minimal possibilities to move into the outer rim of the lips because it stick to the lips nicely.

The formula is not drying my lips, but it doesn't moisturize my lips either. Well, I guess it's still on the good side. yeah? ^^

All in all..

I still find this lippies are still on the affordable price ( IDR. 69900 rupiahs or around $ 7 US Dollars at Watsons or any Maybelline counter a piece ), so.. if you curious to try or if you maybe already fall in love with some of the shades from this range, why not purchasing this? ^^

But maybe you can still re-thinking for buying these lippies from the explanation / review that I already mention above. ^^

Oh finally! this is a long waited for me to finally get my hands to this thing!

 Well.. so many reviews out there that raved about the great staying power of this cream eyeshadow. They even had a bold statement to be compared : 
COLOR TATTOO.

Wow. It's a daring one. So, I think aside from other may say and Maybelline's daring promotion, this would be my point of view for this thing. And I hope this would be helpful for you! :)

☆ The Packaging ☆

The packaging definitely look so prestige with a heavy duty thick glass plastic jar. It even look more expensive than the MAC or MUFE one, I guess. ( IMHO :P ) I believe with a good quality packaging, the inside product is gonna be well protected too. Good thing, right? :)

BAD THING is, this is quite heavy. Imagine if you want to carry all of the shades in your makeup suitcase. blah. Looks like you'll gonna carry a heavy duty weights! -_-" Another deceiving about the packaging is the thick glass jar make the product containing more than the actual content is.. *ciyuss? miapahh?* #PLAK.

It's a twist up lid.

Just make sure you always twist it good, so the product is well secure and not dried up so fast.

☆ The Color & Pigmentation ☆

There is something about a bronze color that we need one in our life. This is it? Well.. for now on, this maybe it! :D This is such a good eye base color or eye crease color, flattering for any eye color. Whether you want to do a nude simple eye look or dramatic eye smokey look! The color is a cocoa brown with red undertone color and subtle silver shimmer in it.

The pigmentation is also wonderful. With one good swipe, you'll get an opaque color like the picture above. In fact, with 14oz or 4gr of product containing in each of the jar, it will last you a looong time because you really don't need much for one time of usage of both eyes.

☆ The Staying Power ☆

This. is. awesome.

ahaha.. For a really good quality compared to the high price one, this is something that won't let you down. As I do have an oily eyelid, I'm not experiencing a creasing problem at all, as long as I remove them with oil base makeup remover in the end of the day! :D

BUT. I'm not gonna lie, in my previous trying out any base eye makeup, I rarely experiencing any creasing problem ( except if the product is horrible quality one ). And mostly, I'm experiencing a fading problem. And this thing does to me for approximately good 5-6 hours on my lid.

As for waterproof or water resistant formula, this thing will stay on! I mean, STAY ON even if you rub them hard when it's wet. Maybe loose a bit of the shimmer, but hey. GREAT STAY on the main color! *thumbs up*

Same thing for an overall staying power. After it set, it won't move or budge or smudge or anything.

After it set, I rub them hard.

The color is just stay put, while the shimmer may move and lose a bit.

Overall Thoughts..

I love how Maybelline come so far with this product. It is a great quality compared to the high price one. And it comes from a drugstore! And so far I'm satisfied with what I purchased. The sad thing is, this is still so hard to get in my country. And I have to pay double or even more the price than the price they sell in the US. With a help of local online shop, I have to pay around IDR. 130000-150000 rupiahs ( around $13-15 US Dollars ), while the original price in the State is only $ 5-7 US Dollars.

And after I open this for a month or so, this thing is still in a good shape and didn't dried up so fast in the jar ( another thing that scares me for a cream eyeshadow or gel liner product in the first place! ). And that's leads me to one another question.. 

How well is it gonna hold after it dried up in the jar? 

Anyone could help me with the question and share the story?

☆Review + Comparison : Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals Healthy Natural Concealer☆

Still liking it. Still using it, until I finish it. But overall, here's my thought and comparison to my new favorite one.

Clear Smooth Minerals Healthy Natural Concealer in Medium-Sand

In fact, I almost gone through a tube with this :D

☆ The Wand ☆

compare to NYX HD Concealer :

Maybelline is slightly more slanted than NYX.

It means Maybelline grabs more product and easily cover ( or spread product ) to larger area on the face.

While NYX is more spot on and grabs a little less product.

As you can see, Maybelline is little more pink than NYX when first swatched it.



When both are wet. 
The texture to compare are : NYX is more thicker and rich, while Maybelline is slightly thinner and lightweight.

That's why, Maybelline is easier to spread and blend.

Half wet.

Both almost have the same time to dry and set to the skin.

Here, you can see the colors are preettyy similar when they dry.

Almost have the same color pay off!

☆ The Coverage ☆

As you can see, it does also a pretty GREAT job as covering my scars!!

☆ In terms of comparison :

Maybelline Mineral vs NYX HD ☆

Both have the same price range..
Both have a great result in pictures..
Both have the similar color pay off..

But, in terms of texture >> Maybelline feels more lightweight and thinner than NYX. While NYX is thicker, it also conceal and stick better, covering even longer than Maybelline.

Do I find Maybelline Mineral Concealer is good? Off course! but, in my humble opinion and as what I need, I would say NYX is a little bit better. I need a thicker and more concealing concealer ( *the thicker, the better! ) to my Goddamn horrified skin lately -___-"

I don't know about both being said waterproof or not, but after I showered *because NYX sticks better in the skin, it survive graciously. Fade a bit, but hey. still stood there like a boss! :P >> ( read : NYX less faded than Maybelline ).

If I had to say the negative and what bothers me about both of the product >> They run pretty FAST! Yeah, I need them a lot dearly much ( as you know ) so it's right there got through me.

☆Review : Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara☆

I've been testing it for a good 1 month or more. Worth to speak, right?

Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara in Black

The one in a purple-teal tube!

Description of usage :

☆ The Wand ☆

It slightly curved with a synthetic bristle.
This kind of shape of wand gives a good volumizing effect.

☆ Texture & Finish ☆

As you can see, the black color pay off is pretty promising.
And the texture ( as you'll be surprised like I do ) is slightly like gel. :/

When it's swatched, it moved easily.
It means, you need several seconds to finally set them to the lashes. Because it will transfer easily when it's wet.

But when it set, it doesn't move a bit, waterproof formula ( which just like what I need ) and has a satin finish. *so far so good*

☆ The Result ☆

sorry for the creepy angle. it's the sake for information.. deal? :P hehe

hmm.. Do I find this is a good mascara? YES.

It gives a nice volume and *thumbs up* doesn't make your lashes look clumpy.

 ( at least this one is less clumpy-look than other mascara might do )

But after I'm using it for a month, I feel like this mascara dries pretty fast on the tube. It's not as wet as what I first open it now. And I might toss this baby pretty soon. which is so sad, right? :(

 What I like ♥ :

♥ It does give volume to my lashes.

♥ It's not giving a clump effect to my lashes, even after 2-3 coats of mascara.

♥ Easy to get and affordable price at any drugstore or Maybelline counter.

What I hate - :

- It dries so fast in the tube :(

- Just like any other waterproof formula, this also hard to take off completely, even with an oil based makeup remover.
