♡ Kiehl's Event Part 2 : "Holidays Head To Toe Bloggers Gathering" + Overview Products ♡

Hi bubblies!
How's your Christmas Day?
Hope you have the most magical day! :D

So, have you already read the first part of this post?
Where I mostly take you to sight seeing their store at Seibu, Grand Indonesia.
Okeh, here's the link :D >>
♡ Kiehl's Event Part 1 : Come, Window Shop With Me to Kiehl's Counter! ♡

And now for this part 2, I'm gonna share my experience about the event that Kiehl's did for us that day. They invited us with the theme :
"Holidays Head To Toe Bloggers Gathering"

To start, we all got an introduction or I might say a
101 lesson about the brand Kiehl's.
with the lovely mba Sally as the product manager -slash- host of that day :D

lol. I love her expression here. she's adorable to greet us like that! XD

And here's the summary of the presentation she gave us that day :

  • Kiehl's Pharmacy since 1851, been on the business for 160 years of serious skincare heritage. *fiuhh that's a really loong time ago!*
The Founder, John Kiehl, started the business in New York as a local apothecary in the neighborhood. That's why you'll gonna see all that elements still showing through from the design concept of their store or even their product packaging.
  • No fuss packaging and complete information labeling.
None like other brand that might try to sell their product by a cute deceiving quality packaging, Kiehl's still stick to their old but modernize style. True purpose and straight forward labeling as a skincare product. What you mostly see is all the ingredients list and information sake for the skin.
[ Product Name - Benefit - For What Skin Type - Product Description With Active Ingredients Story - Directions For Use ]
  • Kiehl's Philosophy : "TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!"
Yup. To show that they care to their beloved customer, they didn't just sell. They also want to reach their customer needs and make a solution to every single skin problem to each of their customer have. That's why for the first timer, if you go to Kiehl's counter, the KCR ( Kiehl's Customer Representative ) will greet you, give solution & advice for you, and lastly they'll give you sample before you buy. NOT a love advice ya girls. Skin problem advice. Don't get mistaken by that if you go to their counter. -_-" lol.
  • Products for A CAUSE
Kiehl's also never forget to always give back to people in need. Some of the programs they have :
Pop Icons : Rp 5K of each unit sold goes to our local Indonesian charities.
Aloe Vera LBC + Brad Pitt : 100% of proceeds went to JPF Eco Systems to support global environmental initiatives.
CDC + Jeff Koons : 100% of proceeds goes to The KOON's Foundation for Abused And Missing Children.
etc, etc.

Moving on, the exciting presentation would be about their product explanation :D

"Aromatic Blends"
This is what they called the most long awaited lines that comes from them.
Being known for their medicated with natural ingredients and less chemical inside, the smell sometimes.. hmm yeah might be unpleasant. >,<" That's why, this line is a little bit different from what you might find out of other Kiehl's products.

Aromatic Blends is aromatic scents that Kiehl's created. The all 4 scents are :

Fig Leaf & Sage
Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit
Orange Flower & Lychee
Vanilla & Cedarwood

Sourcing Glossary :
Natural Ingredient Extraction : Orange Flower, Pink Grapefruit, Sage
Sustainably Sourced : Vanilla, Cedarwood
Aromatic Reproduction : Lychee, Nashi Blossom, Fig Leaf

You would find this line in various items like : Pure Fragrance, body spray, body lotion & body cleanser.

☆☆☆ NEWEST ITEMS FROM KIEHL'S ☆☆☆

Deep Moisture Clarifying Cream
Clearly Corrective. Deep Hidration. Breakthrough Clarity.

First Impression : A not too thick cream, took a while and little massaging but absorb to the skin nicely, not leaving sort of greasiness afterwards.

Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream
Dermatologist Solutions

I know BB Cream is so last year for maybe some of you. In fact, we already have CC Cream in the market :s frankly, this is the newest item that comes from Kiehl's.
They have it in 3 shades, which is : Fair, Light & Natural shades.

My predict :
Fair >> for light skin, with yellow / beige undertone color
Light >> for light skin, with pink / greyish undertone color.
Natural >> for light to medium skin, with yellow / beige undertone color.

Comparison in Shades :
First Impression : A not too thick texture ( means sheer or light in coverage ), feels lightweight on the skin. and I guess.. not so good for oil control because it takes a while to settle on my skin. But who knows? it's just my quick glance by looking at it. I'll review this soon for my upcoming post ^^
and the shades were also very limited that mostly suit for a light skin tone girl :(

 Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream
They have it for Cream & Eye Cream version.
The Cream version is for all over face and can be used to minimize pores as well.
While Eye Cream version is meant for your delicate under eye area.

Different texture & consistency for both :
As you can see, the eye cream version is much thicker and feels like whipped cream. While the Cream version is more lighter and feels liquidy in texture.

After all the presentation done, it's time for my skin check and consultation with the KCR..

First thing first, they try to verdict your skin type and possibly skin problems + needs by filling this several options in the form.

Then.. my KCR, his name is Michael :D, suddenly pulled this tiny sheets thing and did an experiment on my face.
He place it on my forehead and one on my cheek for about 10 seconds.

Apparently, he is checking my oil face with this :
The dots are your oil that got into the sheets. Means.. the more dots in the sheets, the more oil level that you have.

And my result?
He said that I have a Normal to Dry skin type.
Well, that is quite stupid. lol. First, I'm using makeup ( all that primer and compact powder to control my oil seeping through in the public place >,<" ). And Second, that's just absorbing my oil face in one take!
And I do have a very oily skin btw. XD

Lesson learnt : knowing your own skin is more important sometimes!

And then.. having more consultation and talk with Michael, I said that my most problem lately is about fading my acne scars.

So, he finally pulled out some samples of Kiehl's products that suit to what I need.

 He gave me :
Clearly Corrective White Purifying Foaming Cleanser ( 30ml )
 Clearly Corrective White Clarity-Activating Toner ( 40ml )
Clearly Corrective White Hydrating Moisture Emulsion ( 5ml )
Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution ( 2ml each )
 Additional :
Acne Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment in sachet
Rare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion in sachet

I guess it's the end of my second post for this Event.
Don't forget to check my upcoming post for this Event Report, where mostly I do reviews for some of the stuffs that I got. Is it worth to buy or not? Guess it will be on my next post yaa ^^

Stay tune.

And here's the goodie bag that I got  :
a Notes
Clear Cute Square Pouch filled with Orange Flower & Lychee Aromatic Blends Products :
Skin-Softening Body Cleanser ( 65ml )
Skin-Softening Body Lotion ( 65ml )
Aromatic Mist ( 1.5ml)
 Additional :
sample of Kiehl's BB Cream in the shade Fair + Natural mixed together.

Thanks Kiehl's for inviting me.
Also thanks to you who read my blog.
Have a great day all.
Have an amazing holiday season ahead!

Smile :)

Review : Silkygirl Magic BB Powder Foundation ♡♡♡

Hi bubblies!
How's your day?
Hope it's fantastic, baby! :P

In the previous post maybe I did a haul and made a first impression with this product --> click here! <-- make sure you read that post first ya! :D
And I've been trying to use it since then. And now here's my full review. woohoo!

***

What is this?
Basically, it's a BB cream in a form of a pressed powder. Here's what it says :

Magic BB Powder Foundation
with Vitamin E and SPF 20/PA+

Formulated with Vitamin E and oil-control properties to keep skin moisturized while giving it a matte, silky finish. Specially infused with Wild Mango Kernel Butter to repair and restore skin's suppleness. Contains SPF 20/PA+ to protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays.

I got mine in the shade 01 Ivory

Packaging
Let's talk the pros and cons through the packaging first.
I love how compact and slim it is. It's perfect for traveling and in case that day I want to bring a touch up makeup items. It has a convenient size of mirror inside as well!

sorry for the different lighting with picture below, I took it at night time :)

the size is slightly smaller and thinner than blackberry.

It also feels sturdy and lightweight. But unfortunately, the material feels cheapy though. and after I use it for several times, the writing in the cap is easily rubbed off and it easily gets dirty too. Well, that's what I found unpleasant, but I could bare it off :)

Color Selection
They have 4 different shades and it's all made purposely to suit Asian skintone, which I believe it could be a huge advantage for us, Indonesian :) As far as I see through the website, the color there didn't match as in real product. They were too pink! ( You can see my previous picture above as for reference for color : 01 Ivory )

Indonesian -or I may say Asian- often has a warm or yellow undertone color. My advice, you should see and check them by yourself if you plan to buy this product!

Except from the wrong color display in the website, I found all of the shades were just sooo lovely for Asian skintone. They all has a yellow undertone color. Mine as the lightest shade still got the warm undertone color which is a huge plus! << often, ivory shade has a cool or pink undertone color :)

Texture & Quality of the Product itself
If I had to compare with the similar items from Maybelline ( their powder foundation ), it feels softer and not as powdery as Maybelline's. Well, fraction of the cost prove it all! :D
And yes, I would say it's a better feel to me if I had to compare those two. Silkygirl feels more buttery, softer, and has a finer texture. great pigmentation as well.

As for oil control and coverage, I just felt it's almost the same though. I don't find any special thing in terms of that about this product. My oil is still seeping through to the skin for a good 3-5 hours. As for coverage, I rarely use this alone and often use this as my setting powder to my liquid foundation or liquid concealer to hide my blemishes. >> I have to hide my acne scars, because in the previous, I had a major breakout from Hada Labo Indonesia  :)

So, overall quality?
I find Silkygirl impressed me so far! I would say the huge plus point with this is their shade! It IS made for Asian skin and 01 Ivory is a perfect match for my skin. I'm in heaven! ♥
Well.. long term process, it says to contains good ingredients to the skin and promised to repair and restore skin's suppleness. Well, only time can tell for that! :D

So, considering to purchase this? I think you wouldn't be disappointed by their quality. ( Doesn't broke me out so far either ). And if you find your color match, welcome to the heaven with me! :D It's my favorite so far. It gives a silky and matte finish afterwards. See my previous FOTD using this --> click here!

To add, my favorite tool for applying this is a blush brush from ecotools.

sorry for the dirty looking condition! lol.

it is tapered and dense enough so I can pat and push the product to the skin beautifully.
Love this brush! a must have shape of brush :)
see my old post about this ecotools brushes --> click here!

ADDED NOTE : if you want a maximum coverage from this product alone, you can use setting spray in between layer of application. It helps to make it last longer too! the order application would be >> setting spray - BB powder - setting spray - BB powder. ( however, more than 2 layer make it look cakey! )
But I wouldn't find it will hide blemishes completely until the end of the day ( in my oily base face, it could fade a bit ). And it's good to minimize the size of the pores ( fills in the pores ).

So, have you tried any Silkygirl product?
What is your favorite?
Let me know what you think!
I'd love to hear from you. :)
Good day all!
Smile :)

Review : Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream

Hi bubblies!
How's your day?
Just SMILE and make everything better, shall we :)

I think in my previous post lately I've been reviewing more of face product especially skin corrector, foundation, or concealer. right?
And if you been keeping up with my blog.. yes, I had a major breakout which you can see why on my previous post --> Review : Hada Labo Indonesia  Yep. maybe that's why :D

As I still think positive about what's been happening, let just say it's about my time to give you a good post ( as well as proven pictures ) to test out some of good face products to cover blemishes or skincare items to heal those *ehem* bad ass!! >.<"

This is my review for Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream.
I believe it's a Korean product that has been famous for the origin place of.. BB Cream! Basically, BB stands for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm because it's one step advantage as a cosmetic as well as skincare in one. It infused with other beneficial ingredients to a good skin. such as : sunscreen, anti aging, healing properties, etc.

And for this particular product from Missha, it offers :
  • lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability
  • prevent skin aging through effective whitening
  • and anti-wrinkle properties
Well, good concept! As we all need to prevent rather than to cure.. ( if you haven't got all those skin problems.. yet. )

I got mine in the shade No. 21 Light Beight
With SPF42 PA +++

Mine happen with a smaller tube size ( 20ml of product ) which has a dispense like so :

I believe they had a bigger tube size which comes with a pump! How exciting.

For this shade, it has a fresh light beige color with a hint of pink and greyish undertone.

It's pretty thick consistency and little goes a looong way.

It has a satin finish almost matte overall on the skin and good staying power as well! Well.. for oily skin I'll always suggest to put powder on top to set it as well make it last longer! It last good on me for about 3-5 hours before my oil is seeping through on my T-zone area.

None other like Revlon Colorstay Foundation, it didn't oxidize on me! YEY.  But it does leave more hint of pink on the skin, which I believe as their promise to enlightening or fresh effect on the face.

Let's see the coverage performance on my blemishes :

 As you can see :
  •  1 layer is enough to cover the blemishes, while 2 layer could make it more heavier BUT tend to cake you up >> As it lighten your skin, also noticing you wear a makeup on your face or looking ashy. I guess 1 layer is enough! The rest could've been conceal with the help of concealer and powder on top!
  • And it does lightens my skin tone. You can see the different when I put the product near my jaw line and no product on my cheek bone area.

It also really does almost conceal all of my blemishes!
Again. That's zooming in straight to my "disgrace" :P
. no primer. second layer application. dabbing in with just a finger .
. no powder on top .

Overall..
Do I think this BB Cream is good? YES. Definitely. But maybe the downfall is this shade on me. It almost looking ashy and being too white on me, that's why I always mix with other foundation or BB Cream.
By the performance as the cosmetic itself is already have my applause for sure, let's just hope all the skincare beneficial is work wonders as well.

I bought mine for about 6 or 7 months ago at their original counter, and forget the exact price. >,<"
But you can find Missha through their site www.missha.net or your local online makeup shop, or e-bay.

But need to remind, every skin is different.

Let me know what you think!
Good day all!
