Review + Swatches : Joey Healy Luxe Brow Powder & Brow Structure Clear Set

 Well, being a "Brow Expert" is indeed my job. That's why, trying out a new brow product is another excitement that I created just to level up my work. Just like a fresh new toy to be playing around for me! haha. :D

And this time I'll be reviewing product from a brand name Joey Healy.

✿❀ Joey Healy Luxe Brow Powder ❀✿

Just like a luxurious items, this is packaged oh so nicely ( sturdy, plastic packaging ) and inside a leather-feel pocket.

I got mine in the shade called "Tobacco"
and you'll get a nice amount of 15oz / 4gr of product.

The color is a rich dark cocoa color with a greyish brick red undertone color.
More that I can see, this shade is one of the neutral. not too red, not too grey ( among from 3 another shades they provide ) & just nice in between, so I can use it universal to any of my client's skintone.

♥ The pigmentation? Oh I'm amazed.
Just look at the picture when I just gently touch my finger unto it!
♥ The texture felt so buttery like a spongecake.
 ♥ Minimal chalkiness too, means minimal fall out!
♥ Blend & stick nicely to the skin >> I believe it will make it stay long too.

Left : when I just swipe it once.
Right : when I swipe it 2-3 times and blend it to the skin.


Overall thought for this product :
 This is a really really good high pigmented brow powder product.
When it comes to a brow product, you know. highly pigmented eyebrow color could be your heaven or your disaster.
To me, this is one of a brow product that you have to get use to it. If you already master it, you can even create from a sharp bold brows into a natural looking soft baby brows. Just play on the blend technique and the way you applying it.
And of course, unto the next concern about this product in my opinion. This doesn't come with a brush. So, finding the right tool to pair with this baby is another heaven that I still need to seek.

♚ TIPS  ♚
Above all the rave that I've mentioned, I found kinda bit of a cons as well.
This powder could be a challenging if you have an oily skin or just a wet surface skin, the powder would blend harder and hard to get removed. 
Usually, I would make the entire skin around the eyebrow area covered with a powder first ( remember : powder will be easier to be blend with another powder ) or maybe my favorite is with a base eyeshadow : mac soft ochre paint pot >> PLUS it's a primer. it will make it even last longer too.

Yes, once again. my tips that you cover all your entire eyebrow and around it with a powder first. to make it blend nicer and enhance the true color even more.

What can I say, I need this.
This is like a clear brow usual mascara. Just like a hair gel or a hairspray to keep the wild hair stay still. In my work, I always always keep the volume of your natural hair eyebrow with the most minimalist trimming process. Which I believe, your length of eyebrow hair function as a cover the next sparse of your overall eyebrow. However, you still need this baby to do that work!

Again to me, the packaging is another hit. 

The bottle is quite heavy, but I believe it is a good material as a structure to keep the product nice and safe.

 This is a nice leather-feel pocket as the cover they given too.

 The wand is huge for an eyebrow to be honest!
It is the size of a normal mascara wand!
 But in my defense, I like it. It pick up the product in a nice amount as what I needed too.



 Overall thought for this product :
Have you ever wear a hair gel? Same concept with this.
It keep the hair sleek, stay still, neat. But in the end of the day it may weight the entire hair down if you have such an intense outdoor activity, I would say. But for a normal busy activity, not too much sweat, or non-military activity, etc. haha. Don't worry, you'll fine! and your eyebrow is gonna still looking fabulous by the end of your day.

To start with, I'll just make a statement that this will be a rave review post.
ahaha. warn ya! 
Because these two are products that I'm currently loving ever since I bought it couple of weeks ago. Even further, the more I use it the more I'm in love with it. and feels like : What am I gonna do without youuu~~~ *ah that's me singing Usher!* >,<"

The packaging is so sturdy. Made from a thick lightweight plastic. 

All the Dolly Wink design is uber cute. I have to agree on that. mimicking a lace patern and lots of polkadot. so girlie girl! ^0^

 The brush is also perfect for eyebrow. approximately a half size from the usual mascara brush. The bristle is short, reminds me a lot to a spoolie.

I also got the swatches from other shades.

As you can see, no 3 Cocoa is the darkest.

They all apparently have a sheen in all of the shades. But I don't know why it's all look so natural when it's on your eyebrow. I have a very black hair. and no 3 Cocoa seems to match me pretty darn good. which is kinda amaze me. :o

 The packaging is a lightweight plastic packaging. I believe it's quite sturdy and nice to travel with. As far as I know, I got mine in the newest design. The pattern is a lovely purple floral on a pink shade background.

I think this is the finest, most precise tip come from liquid eyeliner that I ever tried. *_* so good! You can create the thinnest line with no effort. at all.

 ☆ The Swatches ☆ 

The black pigmentation is good. Not the richest blackest black, but it's good. Moreover, you can build the color to get to the desired and more opaque black in each of the layering application.

It leaves a satin finish. Not a matte nor glossy effect. But in between.

2-3 swipes to achieve that color pay off at above pictures.

Final Words..
I've been loving this ever since I've tried and bought them. ❤__❤

The result is definitely what I like the most. The staying power is fabulous! Once they set, both of the products didn't move or budge, and just stand there until I finally remove them in the end of the day.

They are not waterproof, but they don't bleed or get all over the place once they touch the water ( or sweat if that the case ). they just, fade graciously.

Yes, quite pricey ( at least for me >,<" )

☆ Review : NYX Eyebrow Shaper ☆

Okeh. Who else addicted to perfecting eyebrows lately? *me!* ahh.. I hope you too, giiirl! :P In a serious amount of time, I'm guilty as charge to not ever do anything to my eyebrows. Even at some point, I'm just hopeless with the way it look naturally. -___-"

But until one day, I look at my night out pictures and woah.. the flash photography completely washes off my brows! and definitely I look sooooo old without them! 
boohooo.. :(


After that, my only concern is only to fill them in, even for daily makeup. Moreover, I like to correct the shape. Because I can see, if you getting use to it, a perfect or suitable eyebrows for your face shape is making you look more polished, youthful and fresh! :D

For that, a polished eyebrows need more stuff to keep them in place.

Basically, this is an eyebrow wax that was placed in a pencil form.
 And if you're wondering about the size :

as a comparison : It's definitely the same size like the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil. So, no worries of sharpening it!
You know you can sharpen them with a crayon sharpener that can be bought in the stationary store, right?! 
if you don't know yet, maybe that could be a great info for you ;P

Unto the review..

Well, do I find this is a good product?

If you into a wax texture rather than a gel ( or type of clear mascara ) texture to set the eyebrows, I think you'll gonna love this.

I like the concept to make it in a really practical way of using. and it's definitely travel friendly! So very convenient and easy to use!

Tell a bit : I'm not used to use a wax eyebrows in the first place. This is my first time using this kind of product. Also, I don't have anything to be compared for the same type of product. With this, I also have some trial and error experiences for applying it.

It does set my bushy, untamed, and wild eyebrow hair in place for a good few hours. Maybe with this type of way of using ( pencil form ), it will give an effect to flatten the hair. Exceptional, you can comb it through with a spoolie brush afterwards to make it look more natural.

It's colorless and has a buttery consistency to make it glides so smoothly and effortlessly. Didn't give a shiny or plastic effect afterwards. Also, enriched with good ingredients to groom the eyebrow as it explain in the packaging.

What I don't like :(

Sometimes I feel like this wax weighing my eyebrow hair down. Maybe because they are quite long as I never trim them. That's why, In the end of the day I feel like some of my eyebrow hair pointed down. Still in a neat direction and good shape by the way, but the inside hair ( where the most eyebrow hair length is ) look a little bit droopy.

Another thing, this thing runs so fast. I feel like I need to sharpen them everytime I need to use them. Moreover, sharpening this baby could waste the product as well.


And sometimes.. this wax unnecessary pluck the hair of my eyebrows :( well, 1-2 hairs in everytime feels like too much nowadays. lol.

Overall..
I think this is one product that tough to beat, because not so many "competitor" out there that came out like this. It's come from NYX which dearly I adore the brand for the overall quality and prices. But, for this particular product, I believe more so many can be improved or maybe someday NYX could come up with a more innovative eyebrow product. who knows? :P

"This thing still I love, just not my holy grail product." With IDR.100000 rupiahs ( around $ 10 US Dollars ) that I bought at Indonesian multiply market, maybe I would consider to be more on the pricey side.
