Current Favorite Lippies from REVLON! (´ε｀ )♡ [ Overview + Swatches Only ]

Maybe because these are all my latest purchases lippies that I got from Revlon. That's why I've been wearing and reaching them a LOT lately. 
I did a full post about how I get them >> here! ^^

However.. If I wanna make a full review, I need to test them out even further.

But, if you asking me now? huueee.. I've been loving each and everything so far, giirl~~!! haha. :D

These are all the 3 different shades & 3 different range that Revlon carried. They are not new items to begin with.. It's part from their permanent line for sure. So, you can purchase these lippies anytime you want as well. And I don't know where I have been for not intrigued to tried all of these awesome lippies in the first placee? #arrghh #selftoyor

I know it's kind of a very late post about an Event that I participate a while back. >,<" 

It's actually held on March 2nd, 2013 about the :

"Revlon Liner Expression Contest"

So, it started when I saw @REVLONid  tweeted about their latest contest. The rules are pretty simple, it's just by simply submitted any kind of our eye makeup look so the judges can see our eyelining skill. 

I immediately go to the direct link that was shared on twitter and saw that kind of form. full form link is here --> http://www.cosmopolitan.co.id/revloncontest/

Without thinking much, I grabbed one of my Recent Makeup Look at that time. It was apparently my Chinese Oriental Look with a drastic wing liner that I created.

It was happen so fast. And it's all in the midnight hour when I was wasting my time browsing the internet when I couldn't get any sleep. >,<" So.. I kinda forget about it after that. hehe..

And one day, I kind of surprise to see an e-mail that Revlon chose me to be their top 10 finalist. and ask me to participate to achieve the 1st, 2nd & 3rd winner during a live contest, that was held on CENTRO Dept. Store, Plaza Semanggi. Jakarta.

They are all gorgeous and talented. really. some of them even already work as a professional makeup artist. :s Okeh, I feel like I am a joke now. >,<" You don't know how nervous I am at that time. This is my first time doing a beauty or any kind of makeup artistry contest. haha..

☆☆☆ Rundown Show ☆☆☆

The event was prepared pretty neat and fast, actually. For opening the show, they have dancers & a fashion show. The fashion show was a 3 models that represent a look using different kinds of Revlon eyeliners and eyelining techniques.

And then the host got into a little chat to the crowd and do some trivia quizzes. I even got a lipgloss because I manage to answer one of it. haha :P

After that.. it's time to all of the finalists got into the contest time.

It was separated into 2 rounds, where first group consist of finalist no1-5, and then second group is the rest. I am finalist no6, so I am in the second round. It's an advantage for me, because I manage to calm myself down at that time and prepare myself to what's coming for the contest. :D

To be honest, I don't why I got chosen. And my eyelining idea just come up during the contest, just wing it with what I've got.

And this is what I came up with.

 I am using Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in blackest black + Revlon Colorstay Retractable Liner in black for the waterline.

And here are the prize that I receive that day :D

Review : REVLON Top Coat & Base Coat Nail Polishes

This time, I'm going to review nail polishes from REVLON. 

I know it's not a popular item that REVLON has carried, which is their top coat & base coat nail polishes. but I think it's worth to mention. As I've tried. and in case, some of you curious for purchasing these. :D

This is a review for :

REVLON Super Top Speed Top Coat

( Top Coat Series )

REVLON Professional GROW 10

( Base Coat Series )

60 second Top Coat

Netto 5 fl oz / 14.7 ml

What it says : Speed Dries Nail Enamel Surface. Builds shine, nail enamel, lasts twice as long.

To use : Apply over nail enamel. Reapply every other day for best results

Ingredients : Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Glyceryl Tribenzoate, Nitrocellulose, Isopropanol, Acrylates Copolymer, Triacetin, N Butyl Alcohol, Etocrylene, Dimethicone.

My review..

I'm gonna tell you my honest opinion.. hem. This is maybe one product that I'm gonna put in my regret to purchase list. -_-" haha.. Most importantly because, when it says it's gonna dry fast ( it even stated 60 second top speed! ), it doesn't do what it promised! What a shame :(  In fact, it takes like fooorever to dry on my nails.

The reason why I purchase this in the first place because I desperately need a new one to do my nails. Knowing this is a reachable item to purchase, that's why I pick this one up without thinking much.

Basically, it's almost like a cheap clear nail polish that has a very liquidy consistency. 

Okay, maybe this thing will make your colored nail polish stay longer, but.. why bother buying this then? While you can get the same effect like a cheap clear nail polish does. blah.

The bristle is long and flimsy either. Basically, it's a standard quality. :|

I guess for this being IDR. 35000 rupiahs ( around $3.50 US Dollars ) that I bought on Revlon counter at Watsons Mal Kelapa Gading, it even suppossed to be not worth that much.

Overall.. I do NOT recommend this item :)

Natural Protein Strengthener
For Stronger, Longer Nails

Netto 5 fl oz / 14.7 ml

What it says : Intensive Plan for short, weak nails. Reapply daily to add strength.
Maintenance Plan for strong nails. Reapply every other day for longer wear and added gloss.

To Use : Every Manicure, Use as base coat and top coat.

Ingredients : Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, Glyceryl Tribenzoate, Nitrocellulose, Acrylates Copolymer, Triacetin, Isopropyl Alcohol, Etocrylene, AMP Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Dimethicone, SD Alcohol 40, Water, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide.

   

My review..

I think this is just an okay product for me. It does strengthen my nail and protect them before I put on any colored nail polish. I can feel that my nails are getting stronger rather than I didn't put anything on a period of time. And this base coat also make some of my *ehem* fake and cheap nail polishes glides on much smoother and spread nicer.

Here is my experiment while I'm wearing a dark color nail polish that usually stains on the nails.

You can see the huge difference, right? :D

Price tag : IDR. 35000 rupiahs ( around $3.50 US Dollars ) that I bought on Revlon counter at Watsons Mal Kelapa Gading.

Overall.. this is just a decent, standard quality product to me :)

    

☆☆☆ My Thoughts ☆☆☆

For the base coat & top coat, the consistency is about the same >> very runny & liquidy. But because they are liquidy, you get a thin layer in every application ( unless you build them up ). It was good I guess, because it supposed to work only as another layer to the main nail polish.  

They also have a very similar packaging thick glass plastic bottle and applicator.

They have a quite strong acetone smell, by the way. ugh. I know >,<"

As I said earlier, I'm not happy at all with the super top speed top coat from Revlon. You can skip and look for another brand if you ever consider to purchase a top coat. And about the base coat, it's just an okay product for me and I believe there are tons of other brands that have a better quality in this range of price.

Review : Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation For Oily/Combination Skin

So, maybe I'm the latest among every beauty blogger out there who already reviewed this foundation from loooong time ago. It's just, my makeup excitement is started almost as the same time as the booming of the magnificent >> BB CREAM. That's why I got carried away by it more than an "original foundation".

Actually, I got my hands on this foundation quite a long while ago as well. But I kinda forgot about it after that because I've been reaching my BB cream more.

And as you guys know, my skin is not in a good situation nowadays >> to see why, click my previous review --> Hada Labo Indonesia :( I somehow got my eyes in every full coverage foundation or concealing makeup. And remembering I still have the infamous Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation in my stash, that's why I'm using it again and manage to write my proper review about it :)

also there's Color Chart Guidance if you want to compare your shade with MAC Foundation.

I got my shade in 200 Natural Beige.

Although I got my shade in Natural Beige as what it said, I still feel it has more like a pinky undertone more than what I expected. And I wouldn't say it match my skin tone color perfectly. >,<"

Ok, break down into points on the good and bad things 

( in my opinion ) about this foundation :

♥ The Good ♥

********************************************************************

♥ Good oil control to my T-zone most oily area at my face. I didn't blot or touch up in 3hrs ( without primer ) or 5-6hrs ( with primer ) until the oil is seeping through. And I do have a major oily skin issues and live in a humid tropical weather, I guess that's a good thing!

♥ Matte finish.

♥ Lightweight feels.

♥ It claims to be long wearing makeup ( up to 16 hours ) >> I don't know about 16 hrs, but it last good until I finally remove it in the end of the day.

♥ Affordable price and easily reached at any drugstore here in Indonesia.

♥ It gives a medium to heavy coverage to my blemishes acne spots.

NOTE : Yes.. My skin is looking at it's worst now, but I think it's in "purging" moment, when the pimples are all showing off, but it will dried out eventually and starting to clear again. Jesus, I hope so! wish me luck, girlss :)) I'm working on it! :')

◕ The Bad ◕

◕ Nice range of shades ( up to 20 colors! ) but unfortunately, the color selection here in Indonesia is only 4-5 shades from the lightest.

◕ Have a strong unpleasant smell.

◕ I feel like this foundation tend to cake you up ( it's pretty thick consistency ) so, I just put the second layer to any of my problem area and better avoid my lines area because it could gives a crack look.

◕ Glass bottle packaging, not pump type of dispenser, could get unhygienic and tend to be very messy.

 ◕ Oxidize pretty bad! >,<" Yep, although at first application it does look match on my skin, but in the end of the day my face is looking darker than my neck area.

So, I guess I could warn you to choose one shade lighter than you normally do :)

For me, for this particular foundation, I find best applied with damped Beauty Sponge or Beauty Blender ( see my comparison for both sponges --> click here! ) as it tends to dry pretty fast. Damped sponges will make it blend and spread nicer, and won't leave you with some patches in your face.
