Review + Swatches : NYX Purple Smokey Look Kit

So.. I'm up with a review from a mini eyeshadow + lip kit that I use from my previous Makeup Look post, which I name it "Meteor"

Okeh, without further ado.. Let's get this Swatch-Fest Purple Eyeshadow Crave Shade started, shall we?

What it says : Create smokey eyes with a punchy purple twist. Contains 9 eye shadows and 2 lip colors. Includes a mirror, applicators and a slide-out compartment to make this palette portable.

☆☆☆ The Packaging ☆☆☆

To pictures in your mind, this kit is a small small one. It's only for 6cmx6cm with a width of 2cm. I guess it's good for travel though. It's compact, lightweight, and a perfect kit to bring along in case you want to change your look into a dangerous-seductive-diva-clubber-party-animal ON THE GO from your formal day job. haha *kidding :P*

It got 2 level. where the bottom drawer is a lipstick and the applicator thingy that came along with this kit as well.

I think this is such a clever way to separate the cream part with the powder stuff. Otherwise, it will be a hot mess if they all got mixed. :s

NOTE : If the case happen to you like mine in the pictures above, you no need to worry about the "sweat" of the lipstick's pressed. It's just because of the changing temperature, or the heat. But it's completely fine and it's not gonna harm you. Trust me :)

☆☆☆ The Texture & Pigmentation ☆☆☆

To me, I always love of how NYX eyeshadows perform. For that such a fantastic price to begin with, they mostly has a good color pay off, pigmentation, and blendability. 

But.. the eyeshadows texture in this kit are quite chalky I must say. and you'll gonna experience excessive fall out when working with these colors.

I also experience some of the matte shadows didn't perform as much as I like it to be. You need to swipe it extra hard and packed the color more to get that nice color pay off like what you see on the swatches, while the satin finishes are much more vibrant & easier to work with. The finishes almost all subtle satin and barely shimmery looking on the lid. Let me tell you.. it's a perfect smoked color based on the finishes! :D

About the staying power on the lid, I think it's quite good. For me personally, I barely experience creasing eyeshadows, but mostly they just fade on my lid. And these eyeshadows will finally fade for a good 3-5 hours without primer on my lid. 

Of course, good base or primer underneath is always a smart way to enhance any kind of eyeshadows, girlss~~ :D *ting*

☆☆☆ The Lip Color Swatches ☆☆☆

For these lip colors, they are quite sheer. It's buildable, but not gonna be an intense color like what you see on the pan. I must say it's like a tinted thickened lipgloss for the color pay off. The texture is buttery and smooth though. Feels a little bit sticky, but that what makes these lip colors has a good stick to the lips.

Aside from that, I'm soo excited for that bronze-y selection of color, to be honest! I rarely see something like that! :D

All in All..

Do I find this is a good kit? Of course I do. 

With approximately only $12 dollars, you'll getting a perfect dangerously sexy purple smoked eyes & lips combo. As long as you look sexy, so it's all good. right? haha. :P

☆ Review : NYX Eyebrow Shaper ☆

Hope you stay gorgeous no matter what! :D

Okeh. Who else addicted to perfecting eyebrows lately? *me!* ahh.. I hope you too, giiirl! :P In a serious amount of time, I'm guilty as charge to not ever do anything to my eyebrows. Even at some point, I'm just hopeless with the way it look naturally. -___-"

But until one day, I look at my night out pictures and woah.. the flash photography completely washes off my brows! and definitely I look sooooo old without them! 
boohooo.. :(


After that, my only concern is only to fill them in, even for daily makeup. Moreover, I like to correct the shape. Because I can see, if you getting use to it, a perfect or suitable eyebrows for your face shape is making you look more polished, youthful and fresh! :D

For that, a polished eyebrows need more stuff to keep them in place.

Basically, this is an eyebrow wax that was placed in a pencil form.
 And if you're wondering about the size :

the length

 the width
as a comparison : It's definitely the same size like the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil. So, no worries of sharpening it!
You know you can sharpen them with a crayon sharpener that can be bought in the stationary store, right?! 
if you don't know yet, maybe that could be a great info for you ;P

Unto the review..

Well, do I find this is a good product?

If you into a wax texture rather than a gel ( or type of clear mascara ) texture to set the eyebrows, I think you'll gonna love this.

I like the concept to make it in a really practical way of using. and it's definitely travel friendly! So very convenient and easy to use!

Tell a bit : I'm not used to use a wax eyebrows in the first place. This is my first time using this kind of product. Also, I don't have anything to be compared for the same type of product. With this, I also have some trial and error experiences for applying it.

What I like :)

It does set my bushy, untamed, and wild eyebrow hair in place for a good few hours. Maybe with this type of way of using ( pencil form ), it will give an effect to flatten the hair. Exceptional, you can comb it through with a spoolie brush afterwards to make it look more natural.

It's colorless and has a buttery consistency to make it glides so smoothly and effortlessly. Didn't give a shiny or plastic effect afterwards. Also, enriched with good ingredients to groom the eyebrow as it explain in the packaging.

What I don't like :(

Sometimes I feel like this wax weighing my eyebrow hair down. Maybe because they are quite long as I never trim them. That's why, In the end of the day I feel like some of my eyebrow hair pointed down. Still in a neat direction and good shape by the way, but the inside hair ( where the most eyebrow hair length is ) look a little bit droopy.

Another thing, this thing runs so fast. I feel like I need to sharpen them everytime I need to use them. Moreover, sharpening this baby could waste the product as well.


And sometimes.. this wax unnecessary pluck the hair of my eyebrows :( well, 1-2 hairs in everytime feels like too much nowadays. lol.

Overall..
I think this is one product that tough to beat, because not so many "competitor" out there that came out like this. It's come from NYX which dearly I adore the brand for the overall quality and prices. But, for this particular product, I believe more so many can be improved or maybe someday NYX could come up with a more innovative eyebrow product. who knows? :P

"This thing still I love, just not my holy grail product." With IDR.100000 rupiahs ( around $ 10 US Dollars ) that I bought at Indonesian multiply market, maybe I would consider to be more on the pricey side.

Review : NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in Wand

Today is another review from NYX HD collection which *ehem. spoiler. I LOOOVE! ♥o♥

First of all, NYX in general is already my top favorite makeup brand for it's quality and price point. And for this specific product, you'll see on how it perform. Will be much raving for this.. because, I do love it. *warn ya!* and be a judge for yourself if you want to purchase this :)

I got mine in the color CW04 Beige

They have good range of color selection as well

As far as I can see, CW04 Beige is part of the lightest shade with a warm undertone color.

The Wand

 The texture is very thick, and it's good. because you'll see it will cover blemishes or any imperfection on the face nicely.

 glides nicely and blends easily.

I got so lucky that this color is a perfect match for my face color!
It disappear like my second skin! woohoo! :o

As you already knew, I have a major breakout from testing Hada Labo Indonesia and obviously it doesn't suit me. :'(( 

Here with all the guts that I have, I should show you my updated bare skin, see my imperfection and how this product works to cover them.

Before :

Here, you can see 1 layer is already covers them nicely.
And 2 layer is like a dream *_*


As for under eye concealer, it works just awesome as it is. Doesn't crease and also soften the fine lines! I also believe this is good for all skin types and for photos.

Review + Swatches : NYX Round Lipsticks ♥♥♥

I don't know why I never made a post about this famous NYX lipsticks! My bad >,<"

I just had this for so long, maybe these are one of my first ever lipstick beside a chapstick! lol.

The packaging is just okay for me. not felt so cheapy, had a good weight and grip as well. In each of the tube contains Net wt.4g./0.14oz of product.

NYX Round Lipstick in LSS 529 Thalia

Okay let's talk a bit about the pros and cons.

What I love :)

♥ It's definitely a good starter lipstick for a beginner or for every lippies lover out there! 

♥ It's inexpensive, bought online for about IDR. 30000-35000 rupiahs ( around $ 3.00-3.50 US Dollars ).

♥ So highly pigmented & opaque ( with different various finishes for some of the shades, but mostly satin finish ). The color you got in the tube is definitely what you get in the lips.

♥ Soo buttery! glides on so smooth on the lips! :D

♥ Not gonna dry out your lips.

 

What I hate :(

- It's so buttery but fragile at the same time! Melt and broke easily in the tube.

- Bleed and move / spread easily to the outside ( rim ) of the lips! approximately uneven application on certain shades.

- Fade easily as well, not a long lasting lisptick.

- Felt waxy and had a funky smell.
