Hi bubblies!

Hope it's in good place :)

L'oreal Base Magique VS Benefit POREfessional

.
.
.

which one is good?
which one is not?
here's my in depth review for each of the item :)

******************************************************************************
L'oreal Base Magique ☆
******************************************************************************
Price Tag : IDR. 149000 rupiahs ( around $14.90 US Dollars ) / 15ml of product.

Packaging wise..
It's in a form of a jar, thick glass jar which is quite heavy and bulky. Of course another let down is, you have to dip your finger or other tools to get the product. And jar is the fastest place bacteria could grown if you have a dirty hands or tools that bring the bacteria in easily :/
I can see why it's in a form of a jar though. The product is in a thick consistency, more like in between a whipped and a gel texture. It even says that it's a unique blend of silicon oils and soft light powders.

Texture wise..
The color is milky white, but there is a hint of pink in it. No fragrance as far as I recon. The texture is quite easy to blend. well.. it's a thick consistency, so you need to swipe it couple of times before it blends nicely to the skin. The color blend nicely to the skin color and didn't leave a white cast afterwards.

I think the color could be an advantage to my skintone, as it is a rosy color, it could brightens up my face a bit.

Application wise..
For every primer, I like to use the warmth of my finger to blend them. And I only use it for my specific problem areas that I have. Here's the suggested instruction that was given in the packaging :

The Performance!
I would say, it's a great -or I may say- AWE.SOME. face primer for a drugstore product. It last me long until I finish this thing. A good primer for oil control as well. It really fills in my pores or acne scars and doesn't make it look cakey or heavy even if you put full coverage foundation on top. Giving a velvety effect texture to my face. So far, Love it!

******************************************************************************
☆ Benefit POREfessional
******************************************************************************
I got this through a giveaway ( read my previous post about that --> click here! ),
but you can check them online --> click here!
Price Tag : $30 US Dollars / 22ml of product.

Packaging wise..
It's in a form of a squeeze tube. Which is better! It has a lovely sweet floral scents. To me personally, I love the smell! So it doesn't bother me that much. :P
The consistency is more liquidy than the L'oreal one. Which I think it's another plus thing. It sink better on the skin, blend more effortlessly, and I believe the particle is finer and silkier so it fills in the pores or fine lines amazingly.

Texture wise..
The color is more like a skintone, I believe it will be a benefit for people with darker or warmer complexion than a fair skin ( compare to the L'oreal one ). But again, the color blend nicely to the skin color. hence, primer is supposed to be applied before foundation. So.. no need to worry about that, right? :)

Application wise..
For this primer, here the exact instruction written in the packaging :
Apparently, you can use it OVER and UNDER makeup ( in this case, the hint of the skintone color helps a lot! )

The Performance!
I would say, it does fills in the pores and fine lines tremendously AWESOME. Hence, you can wear it alone and become poreless China Doll without need any layer of foundation because the color ( for some of you ) could suit the skintone color pretty well!

***

All in all..
I would say.. both of the these are a good face primer! The oil control feels the same to me though. I always put it on top of BB cream or foundation, so the specific BB cream or foundation that I use that day take a big roll on the oil control. But, I would gladly say that these two primer really good to make the foundation last all day and stick better on the skin, your skin felt smoother afterwards, glides your foundation application easier, and make your foundation look more flawless!

Maybe if I had to choose one, Benefit feels more improved with the color, packaging, texture, and smell.. oh my! I love the smell :P But again, all in all.. both of the products have a quality that as good as a face primer could give :)

Battle of the Cheap Moisturizer for Oily Skin : Clean & Clear Clear Fairness VS Sariayu Relaxing Aromatic

Hi girls!
How's your day?
Hope it's magical! :D

From my previous post that I've done, I kinda addicted in making comparison brand that has the same function and on the same range of price. In case you're missing out my previous post that I'm talking about, feel free to click --> Battle of Pore Minimizing Scrub

And now I'm eager to make comparison about Cheap Moisturizer for Oily Skin that can be easily grab in minimarket or supermarket in my country ( Indonesia ), for a very inexpensive price, off course :D
Excited?
Yes, me too! \(^ (oo) ^)/ *ngook*

Clean & Clear Clear Fairness Moisturizer SPF 15
vs
Sariayu Relaxing Aromatic Moisturizer in Jeruk (Orange) Normal Berminyak

Oya, I need to remind a thing. I'm comparing this two brands not because I want to "disgrace" either one of them. It's simply because I purchased these almost at the same time and I just test what works for me the best. It could be different result for you.

It took me about two months just to make sure I get the best result for each of the product. First month just trying the Sariayu, and another month switch to Clean & Clear.

All is simply my honest opinion through my experience :)

Self claim
Actually, in my skincare experience.. I never tried moisturizer ( horrible, I know! >,<" ) Since I have super oily skin, I always thought what's the point in adding extra moisture to my super naturally oil based skin? Yep. WRONG, LADIES! Moisturizer is my new friend lately. Because moisturizing for oily skin and taking care of it, in fact.. it will reduce less oil! All you have to do is looking for a moisturizer that specifically made for oily skin, or simply an oil free moisturizer. And for a simply start, I always "adventure" for an inexpensive product at a reachable place.

Note : For both of these products, unfortunately I can't remember each of the prices. But I paid not more than IDR. 7000rupiahs for each of the items. Price range maybe IDR 5000-7000rupiahs. ( around US 0.50-0.70 US Dollar ) Pretty fantastic for the price, huh? :D

Sariayu Relaxing Aromatic Moisturizer in Jeruk (Orange) Normal Berminyak (35ml)

What it claim : Moisturizer with neroli essential oil as aromatherapy for relaxing effect / Enriched with lime extract to reduce excess oil. (with sunscreen)

For the packaging, it's just a squeezy cute little bottle that has a dispense like so :

For the texture, it's pretty liquidy and glossy like serum that turn into almost-translucent when you put on your skin.

For the smell, sorry I have to say.. it's sooo unpleasant and I almost can't stand of the cheap perfumery fragrance in it. *err -,-"

Clean & Clear Clear Fairness Moisturizer SPF 15 (25ml)

What it claim : Clear Fairness moisturizer with innovative formulation, makes your skin bright, with oil free water based lotion keeps your pores clean. Enriched formula and cherry extract helps brighten your skin. Oil control system with a unique rice protein make your bright skin look clean from oil for a longer time, while SPF 15 effective protecting your skin from sunlight. Makes your skin bright and looks clean from oil for a longer time. (Oil free. Won't clog pores)

For the packaging, it's just a squeezy cute little bottle that has a dispense like so :

For the texture, it's pretty foamy and thicker texture than Sariayu. But, kinda leaves you a white effect on your skin. And make it almost like a white cast on your face. :/

For the smell, ahhh I prefer this more than Sariayu! It has a fresh scents and sweet cherry extract in it. *love it*

Side by Side Comparison

Finishes & Texture wise

Like what I describe for each of the consistency or texture, Sariayu is a glossy liquid like serum, while Clean & Clear is more like a foam/mousse. Sariayu is more liquidy and runny than Clean & Clear.

Honestly.. for moisturizing effect on my skin, I don't feel like both of them make any dramatic result on my face. But putting on moisturizer felt like taking care skin with good ingredients, right moisture more than just natural oil on your skin. My skin feel more supple and dewy in about 3-4 weeks. Moreover, they do include sunscreen to protect your skin as a bonus! :D

But.. I guess, this Final Test that really makes one of them stands out! And become the winner of this battle!
After each one of them set on the skin, it gives different finishes.

Sariayu still looking glossy, imagine it on the face. It just enhance any greasy looking, which is a big NO NO on oily face.
While Clean & Clear gives an almost matte texture! Yea. the downside probably the white cast ( or whitening effect ) on my face -.-"

My thoughts
If I have to choose from these two, hands down I would go for Clean & Clear. Yes, the one I purchased is so cheap because it's like a mini sample size. But it last me quite good. For a month of use, once a day, a pea size for the entire face, I feel like it still left me so much product. *thumbs up* And I believe there are more bigger size of product if you want to save a little money for a longer use.

Battle of the Pore Minimizing Scrub : L'oreal Derma- Genesis VS Etude House Baking Powder

I'm into a pore minimizing scrub lately. And I've been searching for the affordable products that I could grab easily. These two brands, however, caught my eyes and decided to give it a try.

Oya, I need to remind a thing. I'm comparing this two brands not because I want to "disgrace" either one of them. It's simply because I purchased these almost at the same time and I just test what works for me the best. It could be different result for you.

It took me about two months just to make sure I get the best result for each of the product. First month just trying the L'oreal, and another month switch to Etude's.

All is simply my honest opinion through my experience :)

L'oreal Derma-Expertise Derma Genesis Pore Minimizing Smoother Scrub 100ml/3.3oz
It claims :
  • Formulated with gentle purifying clay & micro-beads to exfoliate dead skin cells
  • Contains a natural cleansing agent to deeply cleanse skin without affecting its moisture balance
  • Blended with BHA to naturally enhance daily cellular renewal
  • Shrinks pores & refines skin’s texture
  • Skin appears sleeker, brighter & fresher
  • Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested
  • To use: Apply daily to damp face & lightly massage in circular motion. Rinse thoroughly, avoid getting into eyes
And you can purchase online at StrawberryNET . link to the product --> click me!
However, you can get it from any L'oreal counter or Watsons, like I do.

Through the packaging, it's just a regular squeeze tube with approximately 16cm tall. It's a decent size for travel or use daily at home. With this, a little goes along the way. You just need a teeny tiny amount of product just to wash the whole face. From the instruction at the back of the package, I assume to use this daily.. and it is. It's a lightweight feel to clean your face whenever you need it.

For the texture, it's like a foam almost like a cream or a paste with a red micro beads which supposed to exfoliate dead skin cells.

From the picture, you can see that this formula is not gonna get foamy, at all. When you mixture with water, it's just gonna get more liquidy texture. For me, it's new. Because I believe it's not gonna dried out your skin like a soap can do. Another challenge from this texture, it's not easily clean with a swipe of water, but you need to keep swiping it off until no more product in your face.

It has a fresh floral scents, not too overwhelming but acceptable for someone who doesn't like strong smell.

I use this almost twice a day for a month. For the result, hmm.. I guess it doesn't do much for me. except having a fresh and clean face after everytime I use it. I gotta tell you, it doesn't change the size of my pores or control the excess oil from all day activity. It pretty much the same as face cleanser. In fact, I still prefer my regular foaming facial wash, Clean & Clear, and it is way  more cheaper.

Etude House Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub

It claims :

Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub is a scrub cleanser formulated with baking powder to penetrate, exfoliate and cleanse skin deep within pores to remove makeup and residues. Also contains Peppermint to soothe skin.

This product contains 100% natural fragrance, and is dye-free.

Each box contains 24 pouches.
Vol. 7g x 24 pouches = 168g (5.92 fl.oz.)

And you can purchase online at Indonesian multiply market. link to the product --> click me!

This time, I'm taking the traditional way. Baking soda is famous for it's way to shrinken the size of the pores. But I'm just too "skeptical" if I have to put the real baking soda into my face. Hais, I'm scared.. hehehe. So I'm just searching for a product that made to be a facial wash and formulated with baking soda. For coincidence, Etude House made one. And the cute packaging is always a plus for me. ^_____^

It's a triangular shape box filled with the actual product in it, 24 pouches of facial scrub. The pouches also shape triangle, so darn cute! And that is a huge "pro points" for me, in why they made it this way --> This aren't meant to be used daily! It says that "Use it for 1-2 times per week". It meant to deep cleaning your face weekly. ( NOTE : for the regular wash, I'm using Clean & Clear )

For the texture, it's like a foam wash, and I don't see any micro beads like L'oreal does have. But you know when you feel it, it's like the texture of baking soda ( a finer size than a micro beads, almost like sand texture ). And it has a lemony fresh scents.

And for the usage weekly, I got help by this bad boy right here.

no no no! not the squarepants! LOL!

Yup. I believe it help me exfoliate more of my dead skin cells. You can purchase it anywhere at drugstore, I personally bought it at SOGO MKG ( Mal Kelapa Gading ). My face felt really really clean and much smoother. It does help reduce my oiliness in regular day. To be honest, I don't see any different at the size of my pores.

Make me realize that.. You know, there is a word saying, "Pore size is genetic, and there is nothing you can do to make your pores permanently smaller. Do not fall for claims stating a product will reduce your pore size. There are, however, tricks you can employ to temporarily minimize the appearance of pore size."
Here is I found a great article related to :
"Pores and Size: How to Minimize Their Appearance" --> click me!

My Thoughts

Yeap. Maybe you can say from the reading that Etude House Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub is the winner to me. And I'm gonna put in the list as my weekly routine.

That's it my review.
Let me know what you think!
Good day all!
