Collective Haul : Masami Shouko Goodies! :D

Hi everyone!
How's your love life?
haha. Gotcha! :P

So, this is a COLLECTIVE HAUL or -slash- little REVIEW of some goodies that I bought from brand Masami Shouko. You can purchase these particular items as well in every big Department Store in Jakarta or other cities, I believe. ( SOGO, STAR, etc. ) For I've been impressed by the performance of their inexpensive makeup brushes that I already reviewed in my previous post --> click here!  Now I've been craving more from them, especially their beauty stationery stuff!

And here's what I've got :
1. Travel Mirror Powder / Blush
2. Travel Mirror Pressed / Loose Powder
3. Refill Sponge
4. Cleaning Puff
5. Clutch Makeup Brush

***

1. Travel Mirror Powder / Blush
 Price Tag : IDR. 77900 rupiahs ( around $7.79 US Dollars )

I think this is just adorable! >,<" With 4.5 cm diameter width, they made such a super travel-friendly beauty tool! Basically, it's a sponge tip applicator for any loose powder. You just need to dab it ( bouncing motion ) on your face, and the pigments will transfer into your cheeks beautifully. It also kinda reminds me of Yves Saint Laurent Touche Blush or Lioele Blooming Cushion Touch Blusher ( google them! :D )
And since I have a mineral blush from L'oreal that I barely used because the applicator is sucks, that's why I'm replacing it with this. ( read my post about it --> click here! )

the mirror is on top of the lid

just pull to open the lid

and as for security, it could twist open ( rotate left ) & close ( rotate right )

and the most important thing is, it transfer the color beautifully :)

I think it may seem a little bit pricey if you think about how much money you spend for A sponge tip container, but it's worth it! ( I know, it's an annoying word appear in EVERY reviewed product! >,<" haha ). Made of a quality glass plastic tube as well. If you enjoy applying makeup, spice thing up a bit won't hurt anybody. I recommend it :D

2. Travel Mirror Pressed / Loose Powder
 Price Tag : IDR. 98900 rupiahs ( around $9.89 US Dollars )

Again, I think it is a beautifully made container. With a 6cm diameter width and good quality glass plastic container, I have no worries to carry this around in my bag. I'm using this container to replacing my Elf HD Powder from it's original container ( to see the picture --> click here! ) I love that powder, and the packaging design just wasting the product. It easily flies everywhere whenever I want to open it! >,<"

the mirror is inside the lid, and the space is meant to store a sponge applicator

just twist open the lid to get to the product

3. Refill Sponge &
4. Cleaning Puff
Price Tag Refill Sponge : IDR. 28900 rupiahs ( around $2.89 US Dollars ) pack of 2.
Price Tag Cleaning Puff : IDR. 28900 rupiahs ( around $2.89 US Dollars ) pack of 2.

Refill Sponge is just an extra replacement for the Travel Mirror Powder / Blush ( item no. 1 ), well.. I thought I might need them eventually if I want to change or switch with other loose powder.

And Cleaning Puff is my exfoliating tool that I always do in every end of the week ( it's in my previous post --> click here!

5. Clutch Makeup Brush
This is my favorite part, also my most exciting purchase of them all.

LOOK, It's a Clutch!
Oh NO, wait, it's a Makeup Brush Storage!
OH, it's A CLUTCH MAKEUP BRUSH!

*lame oldish commercial*
-___________-
lol.

I fell in love with this because it's unique and has a good quality material. Also, not so many times I've seen a makeup brush storage sell in every beauty store. That's why I'm picking this one up.

just need to snatch it open

and it's ready for 20 slots of makeup brushes

it's made of quilted fake leather ( doesn't have a strong smell )

and the seam is pretty neat :D

what I like again, it has a different sizes of slot's width

and some of the parts could fit more than 1 makeup brushes

overall, I've been loving with what I purchased :)

Review : L'oreal Blush Minerals in Soft Coral ( Discontinued )

Hi everyone!
How's your day?
I hope it's fantastic! :D

NOTE : So, maybe the stuff that I'll be reviewing this time is a discontinued item, but this post is meant to be a part of my explanation about this particular item. I make a separate post, so it won't distract the main focus of the post that I'm talking about --> Collective Haul : Masami Shouko Goodies!

Unto the Review?
Here We GO!

L'oreal Blush Minerals in Soft Coral.

I do have Love & Hate Relationship with this product. I purchase this item long time ago before I'm sure what kind of makeup types works on my skin or what shade of blush suit me the best. But stressing out here, it's a mineral ingredients ( raved about it's goodness to your skin ), that's why I'm willing to try.

Packaging

Break down the compartments, it consists of : a cap, a brush and the mineral powder itself.

It was meant to be travel-friendly? But seriously, to me, IT'S NOT.
It is small and lightweight, of course it is easy to be carried around. But, for the "in travel" application, it seriously just failed.

At first, I thought it's the type of applicator that only need to be shake so the powder blush will come out from within the bristle. But boy, I. was. wrong. -_-"

Instead, you still need to open the cap to get the brush, then again, you need to twist open the jar so you can get the product. Just like any pigments, when you open it, it tends to be messy and all over the place!

First, they made the brush so streaky and small. Compared to my cheeks, it just gonna make a tiny dot and need extra "care" to make soft and blended line.

Second, Okey. I won't be using the brush. But, WHAT KIND OF BRUSH CAN BE USED TO PICK UP THE PRODUCT FROM THAT SUCH TINY LIDS? Geez. Should I pour them to my hand first, then I can use it properly?

Seriously, even a good makeup can be so down fall when it comes to a bad packaging.

Pigmentation
Despite all the failed product design -_-", I think the color pigmentation is pretty good for a mineral makeup. It also has a good staying power on my cheeks. But, maybe for some of you who doesn't like shimmery-almost-glittery blush, you can skip this one for sure.

.indoor artificial lightning.

It has a flushed coral color, with lots of gold specks in it. Actually, it's beautiful.
What I love to do with this blush, usually I put this on top of my other peach coral blush and make it a gradient perfect highlighter for me. It define the cheekbones even more, and make a perfect sheen at the same time. :)

Find the Cheaper Alternative Makeup Remover Wipes!

Hi lovelies!
How's everything going?
Hope you're having a blast in your days :)

So, talk about makeup remover wipes.. I've tried a bunch! and I think some good makeup remover wipes can be so expensive. To me, sometimes I love experimenting with my makeups and ended up getting a full face makeup or can I stress out : LOADED WITH CRAZY PIGMENTS ON MY FACE! Using a makeup remover wipes sometimes just need.. MUCH!

One of good drugstore makeup remover wipes that I've tried is Bioré Cleansing Oil Sheet.

But I think it's quite expensive for 10 tiny sheets for each pack. Even though they promised to removed waterproof mascara in 1 swipe ( after you hold for good 5-6 seconds ), but yeah. it didn't happen to me. It does remove them! But I didn't feel so clean with only 1 swipe and I will always keep swiping back and forth until no residue left in the wipes. And for tiny size sheet it provide, usually I take at least 2 sheets in every time I clean both of my eyes and whole face.

For a week of use, I need to buy at least 1 pack. And that's A LOT to me!
( regular price for 1 pack around IDR 26000 rupiahs or $2.60 US Dollar )

 Overall :
(+) good quality wipes
(+) remove waterproof makeup
(-) expensive
(-) small size of sheet

Moving on, I discovered Purederm.

Not just it's in the same price range as Bioré, but it provide WHOPING 20 sheets in each pack! and YES it could remove waterproof mascara, YES it contains much more other goodies (like Green tea extract, Vitamin E & Aloe Vera), and YES it has bigger size sheets than Bioré! ( which means I only need 1 sheet in single use! )
Hmm.. sounds heaven to me :D

And downside about this product compare to Bioré is maybe the quality of the wipes. It has bigger pores types of wipes and not as smooth as Bioré one.

 Overall :
(+) cheaper than Bioré
(+) remove waterproof makeup
(+) contains vitamin for the skin
(+) good size of sheet
(-) decent quality of wipes

Moreover, after experience good things on my skin with an enriched goodies in my makeup remover wipes, I always looking for something like that.

And I was kinda shock the other day, when I found these!

You know, brand "Mitu" is famous for it's baby wipes! And I would never guess it will come up with makeup remover as well. I've tried 2 types from their brand (I'm not sure how many types they have), and it is all specifically for oily skin, called SHIKADA and finesse.

Description : Cleanse, Tone and effectively remove makeup, even waterproof mascara. Its also enriched with Cucumber extract, Chamomile extract and Aloe Vera extract that purifies skin.

What I like about this product is the price point! Sooo cheap, you can say I'm joking! For 10 sheets in each pack, I bought around IDR 4000-6000 rupiahs ( around $0.40-0.60 US Dollars ) in Diamond Supermarket Mal Artha Gading. YES it removes waterproof makeup. Bigger size of sheets than Bioré which I tremendously like. For the quality of the wipes, moreover like the Purederm one.

 Overall :
(+) cheap
(+) remove waterproof makeup
(+) contains other goodies for the skin
(+) good size of sheet
(-) decent quality of wipes

Regular Mitu Baby Wipes
But then I compare all those Mitu makeup remover with the regular Mitu baby wipes.
While the regular one doesn't suppose to clean makeup in the first place, but it does contains other goodies like what I was looking for ( like vitamin E which is to keep skin smooth and healthy and Chrysanthemum extract for natural skin rash protection )
*AND Hey! It wouldn't bother me if someone come and say my face is as soft as baby's butt! It's compliment, I would say! Matter of fact, I WANT those softness of baby's butt on my face o_O"

So far, I've been using regular Mitu baby wipes as my makeup remover. Simply, the price point is just mesmerizing for me. For 24 sheets in each pack it was only IDR 5900 rupiahs ( around $0.59 US Dollar ), and the sheet size? BIGGEST of them all :P

For the regular Mitu baby wipes, it could clean eyeshadow, blush, lipstick or other pigments in the face. But not best for removing waterproof makeup ( I always use waterproof mascara ). So far, it didn't irritate my gentle area like my eyes. Well, it meant for baby's sensitive soft skin after all , right?

My trick to remove "leftover" waterproof mascara is simple.
First, you can add tiny drops of your trusted oil based makeup remover to the wipes.

I'm using L'oreal Dermo Expertise GENTLE Lip and Eye Makeup Remover.
I love this thing! Hands down I still think this is the best formula for removing waterproof makeup!
But, I just ran out of this pretty fast! Moreover, it is not practical because I need to supply cotton pads >,<"

Or, you can use extra virgin olive oil as the substitute of the oil based makeup remover! Natural ingredients, yet effective to clean those bad boys waterproof mascara. It could strengthen your lashes as well!

But maybe the downside is it felt so greasy if you're not used of using it >,<"

Well, after all makeup remover is not the last step of cleaning your face from makeup, right? You still gonna need to wash your face with facial cleanser for a good clean skin :D

Comparison in sizes
Between Bioré, Purederm and Regular Mitu Baby Wipes

The size difference is pretty bold to me >,<"

Comparison in quality of the wipes
Between Bioré, Purederm and Regular Mitu Baby Wipes

Go for Bioré, if you're looking for the finest material of them all.

Comparison in sizes
Between Bioré, Purederm, Regular Mitu Baby Wipes and Regular Mitu Baby Wipes Extra Thick

Well, moreover.. Mitu has an extra thick version which you can get a thicker types of wipes, so it glides smoother in your skin (the price is not much different from the regular after all)

UPDATE August 6, 2012 : As I'm using Mitu baby wipes from now, this is my favorite from a several few types from MItu.

Extra Thick Wipes Sensitive with Chamomile & Aloe Vera.
The wipes is thick & soft, also has extra Aloe Vera in it.

I hope this post helpful! XD

FOTD + NOTD + SOTD? : A Pop of RED!

Hi lovelies!
How's everything going?
Hope you have a magnificent day :D

Just a quick post because I've been playing with RED lately!

I don't know what to call my look, but a pop of RED just reminds me of a
"Modern Pin Up Look Girl"

Ha! Please don't hurt me!
I am NONE look like the beautiful model above and not gonna recreate the look on the picture either! :)

But I've been noticing girls who dare to wear a pop of RED! It's gorgeous in every single girl, I believe :)

For the palette that I'm gonna use is all from Sariayu Palette in "Etnika Nusa Tenggara" that I got from Sariayu Martha Tilaar Eastern Inspiration Event.
To check my full post about the event and full swatches of the palette --> click here!

And this is what I come up with..

FOTD ( Face of The Day )

1. Eyes

From this palette, you're getting 2 sets of trio eyeshadow. The color that caught my eyes is actually the fresh lime green that I put in inner corner on my eyes. As the crease color I choose the dark bronzy brown. And to give some dimension to my eyes, I put the shimmery orange into the center on my lid that will also make a beautiful gradient from lime green into a dark brown color. As for filling my lower lash line, I freshen up a bit with the gorgeous teal color.

2. Cheeks

For the cheeks, I simply straight using what I got in the palette. The color is beautiful too! The blush is a shimmery peachy nude, and the bronzer is a soft shimmery brown that will make you glow! :D

3. Lips

For the lips, it's from Clinique in 97 Party Red. Geez, I had this for so long that I couldn't remember! But from some of the red shade lipstick that I tried and own, I think this is works the best on me :P

NOTD ( Nail of The Day )

For the nail, it is my long time favorite red blood color that I often use from The Face Shop. Too bad.. it doesn't have a name for the shade, but I believe the nail color is RD302. Gorgeous. Color. Ever.

SOTD ( Shoes of The Day )

Haha.. I don't mean to brag or anything, but I guess it's worth to mention. I got this from Gaudi. It is a gorgeous red blood color and a 3.5/4 inch heels, I believe.

And you know what? I've been eye-ing this baby for quite sometimes. And I know it's meant to be when.. it was on SALE!!

*jaw dropping*

Such a STEAL! :D
Although it's a size bigger on me, but that's why other genius women invent heels liner, right?
Yea, must be the inventor is a WOMAN! :P
